In short: This was an acceptable hotel, but just barely. In detail: When I see reviewers say that a hotel is outdated, I just kind of roll my eyes because it seems like a petty issue. This one, however, is indeed in serious need of an update. The room was passably clean; there was some shmootz on the walls here & there, staining that looked like mildew on the outside of the tub, some hairs that weren't ours in a few places, & an exposed ant trap. I'm not a hotel snob & I'll allow for some imperfections as long as I don't get super grossed out. The hallways had ripped up carpeting, some of which didn't match, and an overall dingy feel. There was this sketchy tent with picnic tables in the parking lot that I realized eventually was a smoking area; the common areas of the hotel smelled like smoke, anyhow, including the lobby. Speaking of the lobby, when I went to check in after booking online with a popular 3rd party site they could not find my reservation & told me that the only rooms that they had available were singles (as I was staying with my husband & 2 of our kids). The front desk used paper for their reservations... including a desk calendar. But. They went to their computer in the back room (which probably used AOL) and eventually found my reservation which had been assigned to a room despite there not being paper evidence. & also speaking of the lobby, I wasn't given the wifi password upon check in & so I tried calling the lobby 4 separate & well spaced-apart times only to have it ring the 15 times it took to get sent to what I assume would have been voicemail (or probably an answering machine) had there been any sort of greeting. I went to the lobby to get it & told the person at the desk that perhaps their main desk phone wasn't working, but they assured me that it was. And speaking of phones: there is a phone in the bathroom!!... this amused us so much. So perhaps it was a luxury motel in its day where very important business folk could do their business while they did their business like 3-4 decades ago (okay, it was clearly never a luxury motel). There was so much more mediocrity & vintage-inspired giggles than I want to fill a review with... I've rambled on enough. I would stay here again if I had to, but we'll be looking more at the Hillsboro area if we want to stay for a Hagg Lake outing again (which we will) because Forest Grove was kind of a frustrating dive of a...

Read moreRACIEST front desk lady. It is 9 pm travelling from TX to Oregon for work (6 hours flights) , the lady decided not to check me in just because I have a beard! Simply she said we have the right to decline the service with NO reason. I said then refund me, she said talk to Priceline (reserved through them), we don't have your money!! I Called the priceline agent immediately and told her what happened. The priceline called the front desk lady and asked for permission to refund me, the front desk lady told her the manager is not here now (it was 9pm) so call tomorrow. I followed up next day with priceline and told me the Manager declined my refund.. Can you imagine, it FRAUD up front..not allowed to check in, not getting refunded..and priceline is part of it since they allowed this to happen and even couldn't''t at least refund me.
I talked to the police, but they said its civil issue and resolve it with priceline..
After a long travel day, I no choice but to reserve another hotel (Larkspur landing Hillsboro) at 10 pm same night 9/28/2022, and I did that through proceline as well to proof my case.: I had 2 reservations at the same night!
I escalated the problem with priceline management and nothing is done...so is it that Easy to steal peoples money?
The hotel refuses to check me in because I have beard, and no refund ..Priceline should have control over this otherwise they are part of this fraud.
Moreover, Priceline DIDN"T post my review about this hotel and what happened, they only posted positive reviews so people will be DECIEVED again and again.
PLease PLease PLease be aware of this fraud and stay away from this hotel...
