I adore mod pizza. It's personal oven baked pizza is an innovative and amazing thing. However the new location in forest Grove has some detrimental issues with how they process the customers through their line. First off its loud. Deafeningly loud even with just 12 customers inside. You occasionally hear mumbled yelling from a bearded man paying no attention to anything but the oven. Then you get up to order. And you wait. While they make a bunch of pizzas fefore you. Because someone at their house or work ordered an online order. So even though you made it Into the actual bricks and morter location. The person who downloaded the app gets to cut in line. 8 minutes later they say what can I get for you. With nearly zero signs indicating what they sell, so little info that you might believe your limited to one of the pre-made and pre named pizzas on a poster. If you were a first time customer or a returning one after a break and forgot the process, here you will definitely get confused as the person making the pizza is distracted and looking everywhere but at you. Rushed rushed rushed. Didn't even have time to think about what they offered. I know it's in the tray in front of you. Unlabeled you go to ask what that red stuff is and they aren't listening. The volume of the room makes it impossible to get their attention... there it is... Another online order cut in line. After a confusing process they toss my pizza in the oven and asked me what I'm getting. I pay. Then comes the real confusion. The one finishing the pizza says a name. Unheard across the noisy resturant. She tried again but the bearded man yells over her. Head back down in her cutting pizzas and boxing paying no attention to the line of people wonder if their pizza is done. Can't get a question in. Buried.. bearded man yells again. Still don't know what he's yelling. Order the pizza online and the same issue.plus they say 15.. it's an hour wait. They lie. To pick up the pizza is ridiculous. They pay no attention to the customer. Just yell a name and set the pizza up there. No check to make sure anyone heard it. Standing in a line for online order and no one cares. Pizza sitting on a non heated shelf getting cold when I just assume it's not done yet. Did I mention the sound is deafening. Your have the same experience there. So loud. That music I can't even hear myself eat let alone my name called. My God please figure this out. I'm not coming back to this...
Read moreWe are in town visiting family. We have had mod pizza before and decided We would have dinner here. We came later in the evening around 630pm. There was only 3 people in front of us and it still took about 25min to get through the line. At first I didn't think anything of it, until I realized how slow the girl was being making our order. I mentioned to someone in our party, she is either on something or just don't care. As we put our order in, I'm watching the other 2 workers stand around and chit chat. One hanging all over the garbage can. One worker came over to see what was going on and I simply asked him, if that other employee was going to be touching our pizza. He said yes. I asked, can he please go wash his hands then because he was just touching all over the garbage can. Cross contamination!! That worker simply went and asked the other employee to do so. He didn't seem thrilled. The girl helping us, instead of starting to ring us up, she walked over pulled him aside to tell him what we said about washing his hands..right in front of us!! That was very uncalled for. So that employee walked to the back I guess to "wash" his hands, when there was a area to wash his hands right there. It gave us a very un easy feeling that he didn't wash them and did something bad instead. The younger guy who I was assuming was the manager, was doing a good job at managing everything and food safety. Overall when you hire a bunch of teenagers, they don't care about food safety & cross contamination!! Please re train these employees before someone gets very sick! Also the pizza on the bottom...
Read moreI really like the pizza here. If you like the option to have extremely thin crust, this is the go-to place. They also have "thick crust", but I would say the thick crust is still thinner than the average pizza crust. Although, I could be wrong, since I only saw the dough raw. If you're as unfamiliar as I was to MOD pizza, let me summarize it for you. This place is like Subway, but for Pizza. Instead of ordering at the cash register, you order at the very left side of the counter and watch them build your pizza as you tell them what you want on it. I will say that this place can be pretty loud when accounting for background chitter-chatter, the music, orders being called out, and the huge amount of echo in this building. So, if you're hard of hearing, you might have some more difficulty hearing the questions being asked about your order. The place didn't look entirely spotless, as the soda and cups area looked a bit dirty, there was a fallen pizza just lying on the floor in the kitchen, and you could see some tables with crumbs on them while the windows were covered in fingerprints. I dont blame the employees though, as they all had their hands full, so perhaps they do their cleaning at the end of the day(?). The echo inside the building did make me feel a little sick since it has a little bit of a high pitch to it, but I wouldn't know how they could fix something like that themselves. I enjoyed my time here...
