Visiting the area for a couple of days. First, there are several units under construction (but no construction noise or anything), as they are renovating the property. Our room was a new refurbished room, which was very nice. Close to town (1-2 minute drive), has a nice 6 acre plot that is clean and well kept. Fort Bragg is

Our preferred place in Mendo was booked, so we took a chance on this new hotel. This place is located across Route 1 from town, so although it's close to town, it's almost impossible to safely walk there. We ended up driving to dinner, which was a drag. It's a newly-renovated place, so it has some luxury trappings, but there are also quite a few details that aren't thought-through. They may fix some of these with time, such as the lack of towel and coat hooks, and the serious lack of light in the rooms (just two little bedside lamps and nothing else!) The room was chilly and there's only an electric fireplace for heat. Unfortunately, the blower on the fireplace in our unit stopped working after only about an hour, so we were glad to check out the next morning before we got hypothermia! This place does have the benefit of being dog-friendly, which is great, but other places that charge $50/night/dog usually provide some amenities, such as a dog bowl and biscuits. Here they did provide dog towels, but that's it. The staff didn't seem to have much of a clue, and they pretty much shrugged when I asked how to get a cup of tea (they had teabags, but the coffee maker wouldn't work without a coffee pod in it, so there was actually no good way to make tea). Given all the great places to stay in Mendo, I don't think this place measures-up. However, since they are new, they may resolve some of these...

Stayed here in Unit #2, which has its own parking spots as it’s nestled next to Unit #1. Property is easy to find given limited roads around here. Check-in was so easy and friendly, make sure yall don’t forget the s’more’s kit in the check-in lobby! They also have few beverages and snacks for purchase. Not recommended to walk to the main streets or historic downtown from here so make sure you load up on groceries before checking in. The room itself was sooooo chic and spacious with modern amenities (faux fireplace beneath the new TV that changes colors), the heater with control, fan that’s available although likely not needed, the door entry/exit technology makes it easy, the bathroom with double vanity, separate room for toilet and hello 2 shower head standing shower! So much room for the boyfriend and I. The beds are heavenly, not a lot of noise in the evenings or mornings and slept comfortably! Nice touch with the lawn chairs facing the water and fire pit. What great value for the price. They even have rooms with double beds for those traveling with friends or families. Didn’t rate on service because didn’t need much and only stayed two nights, but arrived to an immaculately clean unit! Recommending this place with ease and would call this my go-to place...

Just spent 7 days roadtripping down the pacific coast from Seattle to San Francisco and stayed in 7 different places along the way. Some were pretty janky (aged, creaky independent motels badly in need of maintenance/updating), others were okay, run-of-the-mill, bland chain places. Mendo Bungalow, however, stood out and is the one place I’ll remember and would like to return. Excellent location just off PCH. Convenient, but far off enough to be quiet. Less than 5 minutes away from old town Mendocino. The property is lovely. On a hill, spread out, with plenty of spaces to relax and enjoy the atmosphere. The room was clean, updated and furnished beautifully. Super comfortable bed. Nice porch. Bathroom with jetted tub. Smart tv. The staff was welcoming and friendly, happy to offer advice on things to see, places to eat etc. And all this for a totally reasonable nightly rate. This is the place to stay if you’re in the area. I’m already looking forward to returning myself.

Hate to leave a bad review, but during our stay in August the hotel was in the middle of a renovation and wasn't worth nearly what they were charging. The renovated room did seem nice so it may be a good place to stay once they have completed the renovations in the future. During our stay there was a large dumpster in the parking lot in front of the room. For some reason there was also an old abandoned toilet in the lawn behind the building. Our room lacked any soap or shampoo and had half a roll of toilet paper. Also no trash can or Kleenex. Although the interior was nice, the exterior hadn't been worked on. The screen door had large holes in it which I had to tape over to keep the mosquitoes out. One still snuck in. The water heater worked in the evening but for some reason didn't work in the morning. Couldn't shower. They either need to charge a lot less or hold off renting these rooms until they are further along.

We only stayed here for one night, but I would have liked to stay longer. The room was very spacious and cute with an unexpected large bathtub. Everything felt fresh and clean, and I liked the little fake fireplace. They even provided a basket of towels for our dog. The area is very open with a big grass space just outside our door. There's picnic tables and dog relief areas. It's nice and dark at night, perfect for stargazing. I liked being able to park just outside our door. Communication was simple and friendly. We were coming in later then the office was open so they made sure we had instructions on how to access our room. The only odd thing is there was a dog roaming around in the morning without a collar or leash that was staying close. We weren't sure if it was stray or lived there.
