AVOID!!! SECURITY RISK! ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING SERVICE!
This was by far my WORST interaction with any hotel ever! We booked the hotel 6 days before our stay. We got a message from the owner the next day through Booking.com asking we send a picture of an ID in order to receive our door code. I sent a picture of my ID, but didn't receive a reply. The next day, I received the same message asking for an ID. I sent it again, and asked for the door code, which we had requested in advance since we would be arriving at 1am. For 4 days we tried contacting the hotel by email, text message and phone to no avail. Not a single answer! Late on the night before our trip, we started to panic that it must be fraud. We contacted Booking.com and the customer service rep told us she would cancel our non-refundable booking for free if she couldn't get in touch with the owner in the next 30 minutes. She LIED! Our booking was never cancelled. 0/10 for Booking.com as well! We booked another non-refundable hotel late that night with Hotels.com. The next morning, the day of our trip, the owner FINALLY got in touch by email to give us the door code. I informed him we had already booked another hotel since we couldn't reach him over that last 4 days. Rather than showing the tiniest amount of humility, he was nasty and rude, accusing me in another email of trying to get the door code before our stay, meaning we'd be able to access our room before our booking. WHAT?!!! This means that the door codes are not changed between one guest and another, posing a HUGE SECURITY RISK! In the end, we were charged US$240 for a hotel we never used, all because of the owner's and Booking.com's abject failures to provide reasonable service. AVOID AT ALL COST! I'm now considering taking Hotel Motel Lauderdale Inn to small claims court. The way we were treated is nothing short...
Read moreMy experience was not great. The staff was friendly, but unfortunately, that's where the compliments end. I was in Fort Lauderdale with a group and really just needed a place to do 2 things - sleep and shower.
First, I was not able to sleep. They were doing construction literally 8 feet away from where I was laying my head....at 7:30 AM. When I say construction, I mean hammering brick and hacking away at tree stumps. I understand that work needs to get done, but at 7:30 AM?! After a short conversation with the crew, they delayed the start of their projects the next morning....but it was a construction zone my entire stay.
So after about 4 hours of sleep I attempted to take a shower. First, the water sprayed over the shower curtain across the entire bathroom. The light fixture was drenched. I ended up throwing a towel over where the shower head connected to the pipe. The water went back and forth between 200 degrees to 70 degrees about every 10 seconds. I ended up with burns on my chest.
If I had to guess, you could probably furnish that room with the revenue from one night's stay. It was clean, but it really felt like the bed was going to collapse at any moment. I think everything came from Ikea...but from about 10 years ago.
I can appreciate that this is maybe a small business, but at $248 a night....I expect more. If construction is planned, it would be nice to be made aware BEFORE arrival and the rate should...
Read moreWould consider this more of an Airbnb-motel than a hotel-motel. To start with the pros, great price, friendly manager, great location within close walking distance to the beach.
The check-in process was not what I expected as there was no one physically there to greet me. They were able to give me the door code over the phone so I could unpack right away.
Now for the cons, the internet did not work so I went through most of my data. The room felt small and cramped, with two beds, no desk, no space to move around outside of that. Probably okay if you're just spending a night but it was hard to really relax. The towels were clean but a couple were stained. One of the pillows also appeared to have a make-up stain. There is a small window type AC unit which needed to be running constantly to keep the place cool, however even with that the room felt very humid and uncomfortable. I could also hear the springs of the mattress and felt like I sunk right in. The shower had a small strands of hair which is always a huge turn off for me. Not the most comfortable experience. That said I'm certain I would have found anything better...
