Hello, reader! Were you driving through west Texas when your car broke down, and now you’re considering staying at this hotel across the street from the mechanic? DO NOT.
HERES WHAT YOU DO. Stay at either the La Quinta or the best western. There is one Uber driver in Fort Stockton, and she will take you to and from the mechanic. Don’t stay here. You will not sleep. They will come in your room while you’re sleeping!!
This is the worst hotel experience I have ever had. We stayed one night in room 131 for $102 dollars. Three people and two pets (cats).
We were on our way to Marfa when our car broke down. We towed the car to the mechanic and spent one horrid night in the hotel across the street, the executive inn.
At the front desk, the lady told us some pet fee math that didn’t seem to add up, but we were distressed at the time and just wanted to get our stuff put away in a room.
Our tiny beds were poorly place atop metal frames and teetered up and down if the weight distribution was off. The linens were clean and the tv worked. We found roaches, live and dead, while trying to center the beds atop the frames, to no avail.
Upon brushing my teeth, I discovered the hot water wasn’t working. I ran the faucet for a couple minutes but never got hot water. Later on we discovered the situation was the same for the shower. The folks at the front desk said to run the water for a long time, but that didn’t work for us.
Around the wall AC unit is a gap in the drywall that could easily be filled with spray foam. Instead it’s been left open for the cold west Texas wind to flow through. The AC isn’t automatic, it’s either on or off.
AND NOW FOR THE MOST DISTURBING PART OF OUR STAY.
I’d read from other reviews that some guy on the hotel staff likes to barge in to your room without knocking early in the morning. Like around 8.
Unlike most hotel rooms, these have no way of preventing your room from being opened by someone while you’re inside. They also don’t have do not disturb signs. In anticipation of the hotel guy doing this, I tried to surround our door with suitcases to prevent our cats from running out, and to hopefully wake me up so I would know he was there. Hey, maybe he likes to watch folks sleep.
Sure enough, the hotel dude came in around 8:30 am. Thankfully all three of us occupants woke up and yelled at him to get out!
Honestly, the invasion of privacy bothers me less than the fact that he knew our pets were in there, and he could’ve let them slip out and run into the busy street.
If I ever stay here again, it will be in a hazmat suit and with some rented pit bulls to handle the job if someone decides to barge in and...
Read moreI originally booked this place because of the reviews. I booked through booking online and got a slight discount and reserved my reservation and payment through this website. I called later and asked if they did military discounts and the person on the phone said yes and told me my total would come out to 65 before taxes. Once I got to this hotel the person (male) checking us in was extremely rude and would not honor the discount and told me he had never spoken to me on the phone and that my amount due was more than even quoted on the website $100+ dollars when I was quoted at $90 after taxes on booking, but over the phone with military discount he said 65. He refused to honor booking or the military discount and was so rude my so asked me to go and talk to him. He also charged us a pet fee that was not on the booking or on the website. On top of that the restrooms inside the hotel room were disgusting and the tub still had water in it from someones previous use. I honestly just would like a refund for the waste of money and time. I did not even feel safe at this hotel for the same money I paid I could've stayed at the best western and if I knew they were gonna changes prices on me last minute I wouldve...
Read moreI stayed here with a work crew for about 5 weeks. Although Fort Stockton has quite little to offer, hotels in the area can be pricy. We were able to negotiate a decent weekly rate for our stay, making it the best value we could find. You can probably find cheaper rates at other hotels/ motels but you really might not want to! The room was dated but clean enough and there is free internet. Although, the wifi signal was weak in my room and the connection was slow. Also, they allow grilling outside; the place next door, which is a step up in quality and price, does not. Beware the housekeeping routine! The rooms have old school key locks and an old man (who does not speak English) comes by and opens a few doors at a time and takes your towels. He does not knock and if you are in your room he WILL walk in on you, so deadbolt your door! Then the housekeeper (who also does not speak English) comes through at her own pace and cleans the room, closing the door behind her. No one on my crew had anything stolen but I would still not recommend leaving valuables out in your room. If you are on a budget and can swallow some inconveniences, this is an...
