When we first arrived - we thought the room was very nice - we were intrigued and impressed by the wood floors - we didn't realize until our first night what a negative impact the wood floors would have on our stay. The first night - specifically early the next morning - there was what sounded like a large person and several large children thundering around in the room above us. The wood floors didn't absorb their heavy heels as they walked. It sounded like children playing with toys constantly dropping them, slamming them into the floor, sliding them all around. They would run from one end of the room to another and back - opening and slamming the patio door repeatedly as they played. It was horrible. We said something to the young lady at the front desk that afternoon - and without even looking up the room number - she informed us they were just cleaning the room at that moment and those people would not be back. It seemed suspicious - like she knew they were there - as if it were one of the cleaning people's children using the room as a daycare while their parent worked. That same day we asked for a late checkout for the following morning - she said we could get a 1:00 checkout and that if we wanted later she could get permission from the manager. I asked if 2:00 was too late she said that would be fine but she'd confirm with the manager. I hesitated - thinking 1:00 should be fine - and she said it was no problem that if we needed more time in the morning we could just call down and have the manager extend it until 2:00. Great! So the next morning we did just that - and the manager refused. I insisted, reminding the person on the phone of our horrible experience the night before, they asked the manager again, and still the manager said no. So we were kept awake for hours by thundering ruffians, who were loud WELL past 2:00 the prior afternoon, and with no consideration for our experience - we were told 1:00 is the late checkout time - and that we had to get out - but we were welcome to hang out in the lobby. Hanging out in the lobby doesn't help me get ready any faster, and doesn't make up for hours of interrupted sleep. The manager on duty at the time was Rowen Smith - if that makes a difference. On top of all that - the Air Conditioner / Furnace in our room sounded like a diesel truck was parked outside our window. It was deafening - to the point we couldn't carry on a conversation in our room without shouting - nor could we hear the TV without turning it up annoyingly loud. All in all - I would say this is hands down the single worst experience I've had at any Marriott. The ONLY reason I'm giving them 2 stars instead of 1 - is because one of the employees overheard our frustration - and overheard us looking for a vending machine to get my girlfriend a Mountain Dew - and he bought her one - that guy was awesome and I wish this review reflected his...

We had a great time, we enjoyed our suite, it was over looking the bay which made it perfect. The staff was awesome and provided a very comfortable experience. It felt like we were visiting family. Breakfast was very good every morning. I liked how it changed up every other day or so, there was plenty of variety. The room was a bit tight with the Sofa bed out but we were sleeping so it didn't matter much. Thanks for an awesome experience!

The staff was very nice, every encounter we had it was always positive. They turned on the Fire pit outside for us, provided us with extra towels when we needed them and always had a smile on their faces.

I would also like to point out the gentleman during breakfast was awesome!! He was there for most of our trip and always provided above and beyond service for everyone. He did it all and it was noticed when he was gone. There was always food out and he was always there to offer to throw away trash and collect the bowls. When he was not there bowls were stacked up all over the place. This guy deserves a raise, I only wish I could have taken his name down.

The only issue during our entire stay was the family that stayed below us. They complained about the noise from day one. I understand how it is to have people above you in a hotel room, that is one of my pet peeves and I always get on my kids about jumping in the room, but when you have little kids it's almost impossible to make them sit in one place all the time. We did our best to limit the noise but when you are getting ready to leave for a day at the beach of other activity the kids are going to be excited and want to jump around. We received another complaint close to our last day and it was borderline harassment so I began to get annoyed by it. If we were that bad, request another room... The hotel staff was perfect, they said that we had every right to walk around in our room and did not have to walk on egg shells because they complained. Overall this was not an issue of the hotel, other than having thin floors. we have stayed at other hotels where the floors were concrete and nothing could be heard on the...

Very very very unprofessional! We called a month in advance to make a reservation and to make sure they were within certain rates so we wouldn't have out of pocket expense. We called several times after making the reservation and was assured they were within the certain rates and also to remind them we were going to be staying with an animal. One week before we leave for our trip they say no they aren't within the certain rates and that we would have to pay the difference which is around $930 a month! ($930.00 a month which we were staying 3 months) I asked to speak to the manager to try and resolve this issue that we were assured upon making the reservation a month ago. Robert the manager said there was nothing he could do. This speaks in volumes to me! First off you have employees who are telling guests lies! They obviously do not know policies and need to be educated by the "Manager". We have called several times since making our reservation and were assured we were set. You need to tell people the truth because here it is a week before our trip and we are looking for a new last minute reservation at another hotel. Second if you quote a guest then you honor that agreement. You don't say sorry there is nothing I can do. This whole situation is your fault! Third listen to your guests! You made our reservation under the wrong name after spelling it to four different people each time we called. We had to call back several times because you misheard our email address. We didn't get the email confirmation until the third time we called back after days without receiving it. How does this get by all these employees? Also the manager told me that if we can find a hotel within our certain rate it isn't worth staying at. Then why is the hotel we found near that is within our certain rate have a higher review? Overall, this hotel looks nice and it on the beach but peace of mind and customer service is something you cannot put a price on. My mind is just blown with all the garbage we had to deal with and we weren't even a guest yet. We will bring our 3 month stay to higher rated hotel who cares about...

TownPlace Suites by Marriott in Fort Walton Beach ROCKS! 🐬🥳💥 It consistently meets our expectations and beyond, and we highly recommend it. The ability to watch dolphins and unique birds from the hotel's location is a unique advantage that we always look forward to. It's a truly enjoyable experience, and we highly recommend it!

The room had a lovely view of the bay. It was noisy in the hallway frequently with guests slamming doors closed. The air conditioner had two speeds, exceptionally cold or exceptionally hot. The shower did not drain well. The bay and outdoor area were dirty. The property under the rocks looked as if people were living there. Mattresses, broken glass, turned over shopping cart. It was disgusting. I don't know if that property is the hotel's or someone else's, but it's worth noting that you cannot go down to the water, only look. The view across is nice, but the rest is scummy. There were people smoking drugs in the "wooded area" aka garbage pit by the bay, which was disgusting. Generally, unclean property. Grassy pet area full of weeds with thorns. The room was clean enough, but found hair in the shower on first use that was not mine, so I don't think the shower was cleaned. Did I mention the shower didn't drain? That's a big negative for a hotel room. Beds were fine. Location is ok. Staff was rude and unfriendly. Have had better stays at other Marriott properties. Would not chose this one again. And due to the garbage pit by the bay, (seriously people are living by the bay, with mattresses and cardboard set up) I would not recommend it for children or people with pets. The area for pet walking is a pit of weeds with burrs that get caught on your clothes and shoes. It's awful and the hotel should maintain it. I can't recommend this hotel to anyone. Try elsewhere! Also overpriced... Seriously. For what it is, it's vastly overpriced. Every morning about 8 am, the staff cleaning the rooms would begin slamming the doors going in and out of the rooms. I was on VACATION, I might have slept in a bit if they had not been so loud. I have attached pictures of the weeds and burrs in the dog area and of the garbage next to the bay. I did not want to walk down into the area with the mattress and broken glass again, the people who appear to live there were out. The picture of the burrs are from ONE dog walk in the dog area.

Free parking on premisses, I love it and appreciate it. The staff here is super friendly and speedy to make sure you are all set to settle down, they even called me a couple of times after check in to make sure the room was good and I was happy. They are pet friendly hotel so that is a great convenience for those who are furry parents. The internet was nice and fast. The rooms here are pretty nice, full size fridge and small stove top, perfect kitchen set up for cooking in. They had a very nice and neat working station with everything I could possibly need to do any kind of studying or working. The bathroom was pretty nice and I had plenty of towels and a nice and spacious sink area. The bed was the most comfortable thing I have ever slept on, nice sheets and an amazing mattress. The room lacks some USB type charger on the walls but overall the room was perfect. They had free breakfast every morning with some great variety of cold and hot options. The gym was as expected for a hotel but it was still useful to keep it in shape while on the go. The pool was outdoors so in the colder days is hard to take advantage, none the less they had a good sized pool. The view of the Gulf of Mexico was breath taking right on the backyard of the hotel. Great fire pits and sitting area to enjoy and sink in all the beauty of the Gulf while sipping some wine. This hotel was pretty nice and I was very impressed for sure. This is a great choice if you are going into the area.
