I want to give a very honest review of this place because the food (after you "customize" it) was good. The base food options were not what you would expect, especially for the prices. The service in the restaurant was a bit ridiculous (togo). This was my first time in the restaurant, a few years ago we ordered from the food truck, we thought it was a bit expensive for what we got and we're not thrilled with the food. I was craving some tom yum tonight and it was a Sunday so our other favorite Thai places were closed. I called in the order, we came to pick it up about 30 minutes later. When you go into the restaurant there is a sitting area and a large street sign that says if you have a pickup order take a seat we see you on the camera....ok so we took a seat after 7 or 8 minutes of no acknowledgement, we start to get up and look around. There is a bar area around the corner with pool tables, this is where the staff was and they did not care that we were there. Finally after a few more minutes someone came out and we finally got our order. We get home, sit down to eat and we are missing our appetizer sampler. We call them, they say they'll make it for us so we take a minute eat some of what we got really quickly, while it's hot and take the 10 minutes drive back over there. Upon arriving inside, there is already another lady standing there trying to get a lady at the bar to help her and she keeps telling her "just a minute". Finally after 6 or 7 minutes and another person showing up to get their order, someone comes from the back to help us. She asks the 2 other people their names, I tell her I just picked up my order and my appetizer was missing, I called and they were going to make it. She goes to the back, comes back with the other two people's food, then she comes to me and asks me again what I needed. I explain it again, finally she comes out with it. Now for the food, the Thai style papaya salad was good, the egg drop soup was good, the pad Thai was good, however we added veggies and egg to it because it comes with none of those things(adding each of these things comes with a fee, making the pad Thai $25) I got the tom yum soup with chicken, it was not like any other tom yum I've had. It only has chicken, onion and mushrooms, had a weird after taste. I ordered it with a side of fried rice(which cost an extra $4) it is only rice, no egg, no veggies, maybe not even fried. The appetizer sampler came with spring rolls, gyoza and crab Rangoon, they were all ok, however they did give us extra spring rolls for forgetting it. So basically if you are willing to spend a lot of extra money to add basic things like veggie and egg that usually come in your fried rice or pad Thai, this might be the place for you. Every other Thai restaurant in town you order pad Thai and it comes with those things without charging you extra and costs less. While this place has potential they are not on target with the other Thai restaurants in the area. There are some interesting things on the menu, I might give them a try one day but not at the top of my list. Just be aware you have to completely customize the things you order and those customizations all come with a fee. Pictured is the "fried...
Read moreOkay, as someone who loves treating herself to good food once in awhile, this is the most disappointing that I've experienced. The food was mediocre. The price? Extremely overpriced and almost felt like I've been scammed by this place, why? let me share with you. So I called Thai fusion today, July 21st, 2024 at 1233hrs, I just got done with my last Uber drop-off and i was craving for seafood tom yum. The lady that i spoke to clearly understood what I was asking for, as my order was PINEAPPLE FRIED RICE and seafood tom yum. I have been a traveller most of my life before i settle down in the US with my husband and a lot of the Thai restaurant that I've ordered from before knows what PINEAPPLE FRIED RICE is. So, after placing my order, she told me it will be ready in 20 -25 minutes time. I made my way to the restaurant and it was almost 1300hrs, So, of course give and take the food should be ready by 1305 hrs- 1310 hrs max. I arrived and the food wasn't ready. I had to wait nearly an hour before the food was given to me, I understand that the place was busy but don't say the food will be ready at so and so time if you cannot guarantee that it will be ready at the time mentioned. I ordered take out and when it was time to pay, I was shocked to hear the total amount!!!! It was $53.02 for 2 meal but here's the thing, what was listed on the receipt was even more shocking for me. I will add the receipt for your viewing. I don't understand why am i being charged for PINEAPPLE when i clearly asked for PINEAPPLE FRIED RICE, every THAI restaurant knows how to prepare one, they added $3.95 for PINEFREAKINGAPPLE for PINEAPPLE FRIED rice which is absurd. It doesn't taste like PINEAPPLE FRIED RICE AT ALL!!!! They continue to charge me with the fried rice separately which was $13.95, I understand if they charge me for the shrimp but why the separate charges??????? Moving on to the tom yum, they charged me $14.95 for tom yum only without the seafood??????? Like since when does the tom yum plain soup cost that amount?? the seafood $ 7.95!!!!! why wasn't this added as one charge?????? then followed by when she asked me before whether i want it no spicy, hot, Thai hot etc? I said Thai hot and that also they charged me $ 1.00 for it????? It's baffling that to get the soup to be that level of spicy cost me money. It has never happened to me before and this is RIDICULOUS!!! So for the cherry on top, the TO GO FEE??????????? IS 6.00% which amount to $2.80. WHY???????????? so how can i not feel like I was being SCAMMED by this restaurant!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have dine and taken out food from many restaurant in Fort Walton, i don't remember having to pay for TO GO FEE!!!!!! Needless to say never going back to this place and would highly encourage people to check their receipt before they pay whether they dine in or take out. If she had mentioned beforehand that they will be a fee for extra spicy food or there will be a charge for to go fee, I would have never place the order. It was just a bad experience for me and definitely will be the last...
Read moreI have sent food back twice at here.
Once, I went with a friend and ordered mild ssomtam for my friend, but they brought it as Thai hot. I was surprised because I handle spicy food really well. So, I called the server (a middle-aged gray-haired server) and changed it because it was too spicy. Then, when I was leaving, she said “arigato gozaimasu”. It felt weird. Of course, it feels good to hear greetings in my language when I’m abroad, and I want to believe that she didn’t have any bad intentions, but in some ways, it felt like she was making fun of us
If a person look from East Asian can’t eat spicy food, are they all Japanese? Moreover, we kept speaking Korean at the table...
The food was so good that I spent an average of $110 every other week when visiting/to go/delivering. We even introduced it to people around us and subscribed to their YouTube channel to support them.
We ordered my husband usual Pad Thai (Thai hot), but the same gray-hair server looked at me as if to say “Is your husband crazy?” I just shrugged it off. I always felt that the server was rude, but 90% of the time, she was working for us, but still, I always leave 20~ 25% tip, even lunchtime.
That day, the food was different from usual to us, and when we was waiting for a new dish after sending it back, the owner(guy) came over and talked to us like he wanted arguing with us.
"Hey, the food you just sent back is sauce, not oil, just letting you know," and walk away.
Oil is lighter than water, so if there’s an oil floating on top of sauce? of course!! Pad Thai is stir-fried. but covered by oil all over? If you call that sauce, then this restaurant’s Pad Thai sauce is oil.
Of course, some sauces have oil base. However, based on the big data of thousands of dollars we spent eating this place, includ delivery and pickup, that dish was made wrong. (We didn’t take a picture because we didn’t plan to write a review about it.)
So I didn't pay except what we already ate and left tip too. We could have waited and get a foods, but we didn't because of his attitude. Don't get the wrong. explanation is good but not a that attitude.
Of course, from the restaurant’s point of view, they probably feel bad or upset about making food while customers cancel and leave.
But we spend the money and time to come here and eat good and nice food. Even though we usually ordered the same dish every time, if I didn’t receive the same dish like a always, then why would I go to this restaurant over and over and pay a lot of money...
