If this was a regular hotel I would probably give it 5 stars. But it is a "5 Star all inclusive resort" and so I can't keep it up to those standards.

** Check in starts at 3 and after a 20 hour drive we stood in line for 45 minutes to check in with the 3 dozen other people to check in. By that time it was after 4pm and it took 20 minutes to get our room keys, but we couldn't get our parking passes until we listened to the sales pitch for the timeshare which took another 30 minutes. NOT EXAGGERATING. By the time we got to our room it was after 5pm!! Our 2 bedroom villa wasn't ready (they warned us at the front desk that it was clean but not marked clean?) and when we entered there was still staff scrambling to get things done. They barked at us until we stood outside and waited. It was 89 degrees outside and we stood with ALL of our luggage until they let us in. We tried communicating our apologies to them as they seemed irritated we let ourselves in (not knowing they were in there) but they spoke no English and our Spanish is shaky at best.

Once inside we were impressed. The villa is beautiful.

Fully stocked kitchen is funny, though. One pan, one spatula, one pot, one large serving spoon, one pack of individual pot coffee, etc etc. We called and asked this before arriving because we wanted to cook our own meals due to some food allergy restrictions in the family. What a joke. We had a stove but one pan and one baking sheet at a time, so we had to go buy more in order to cook for a family of 4.

Now legitimately the resort is absolutely beautiful. If we had planned on staying in the resort and not visiting park (Universal, KSC, etc) it would have probably been more impressive. We swam in the lazy river (River Island) but the kid to adult ratio is majorly off and we eventually moved along. At 1030am you can't find a spot to sit down or put your things. We looked at other pools (North and West Villages) and found them equally busy, though with fewer kids. If you plan on hanging out all day get there EARLY.

We got lost trying to order take out from some of the on sight restaurants. All the restaurants are located by the pools and after dark its almost impossible to find them without walking in circles. Staff was unfriendly and unhelpful. Literally spent over 45 minutes looking for the pizza place until I asked someone to walk me there instead of pointing. Super frustrating. Can't call them unless from a hotel phone, so I had to call guest services and they gave no instructions "north village - just walk right in, anywhere, yeah, just park wherever"

Last but NOT least - the day we tried to check out someone literally left a giant human turd next to our door. Like, for real a human turd. They also peed all along the side of the wall. The kids and parents alike spotted it when we stepped out to load up the car at 6am. We called the front desk and they said someone would be over to get rid of it, didn't sound too shocked - and nobody ever came. We stayed on the 6th floor of East Village and saw nobody else up there much except a handful of older families. What the hell???

It was a lovely place to look at but the lazy staff, unfriendly attendants and of course, the human poo outside our door. Joke? Drunk? Unhappy staff? Spring Breakers? Who knows. Someone sold our info also because every since booking here we get a TON of harassing calls about resorts and vacations. Oi. Probably not returning to this one,...

I have never been so disgusted at a Hotel,an none of the issues that occurred the week I was here were properly addressed. This was my first time ever being in Florida, first time ever getting a chance to stay here,an my first time to visit Disneyworld,an this resort completely ruined it,an i expected a lot more from this place, especially a Holiday Inn.The room I stayed in clearly wasn't cleaned. The one night I went to plug my charger in to charge my phone an noticed two fingernails in the carpet.I have never stayed at a Hotel an saw something so disgusting. The issue wasn't properly addressed when brought up to them, like it was no big deal.Later on in the week there were two more in two different parts of the room to go along with the other two I found the beginning of the week,an they weren't from me.I didn't even take a nail clipper to Florida,an it was so unsanitary,an uncalled for to have to see someone else's fingernails. Not only that, there was a big Brown stain on part of the bedding. We brought that up too,an were told Housekeeping would come clean everything again. (it wasn't cleaned in the first place) After they claimed Housekeeping would clean everything I than find out myself later all they did was flip that part of the bedding over thinking I wouldn't notice. The blinds also didn't go down all the way in the room so I had to put pillows against the window so I wasn't blinded by the sun when I tried to sleep. There wee also issues outside of the room, but the major issue was the room was never cleaned, everywhere I walked I had to watch where I walked so I didn't step on someone else's fingernails,an I definitely was not going to touch them,an it was so unacceptable they didn't have an issue with someone having to live like that for a week. Not only that,I was sick the majority of the time I was there,an I ended up having to go to the Hospital in Orlando,an i tested positive for the flu.My entire trip was ruined an it wouldn't shock me if I got it from staying here because of how unclean it was here.I have never had the flu my entire life until I came to Florida for the first time.It is so unacceptable how this place can be ok with...

Avoid it like a poison and based on the previous reviews I read on trip advisor and here, it looks like they never learn. I really thought that they will take us on a tour of their resort as we are VIP members. They sold me a timeshare deal for a resort stay anywhere in their newly built resorts across US when I booked a stay in one of their hotels in Cleveland in 2017. They promised one year validity for my purchase of three nights four day stay and a reward of $199 if I attended their tour during my stay. Firstly, you won’t get the resort bookings when you want them where you want them. When my timeshare was about to expire, they extended it as a favour to me for one extra month.

Then they made me stay in a mediocre hotel in Orlando (holiday inn celebration area), and when we went to attend the tour, Which I honestly thought is a tour of their resort, turned out to be a sales pitch by four different people, one after the other, relentlessly for about three hours. I seriously doubt the ethics of such practice as firstly, I was totally unaware that this presentation was to sell timeshare and secondly, they were asking a lot of people there to decide then and there itself to invest anywhere between $ 10,000-50,000 saying that it’s a once in a lifetime opportunity and what not. Alex was our “realtor” who was not only rude but also difficult to talk to and condescending. We might have told them that we are not interested a thousand times during the tour but I don’t think they understand the word “NO” especially our sales guy/ realtor. He was not able to understand that we are not there to buy timeshare and we did not have a clue that this tour was all about that. I had other plans for that day including going to cape canaveral to watch a rocket launch and my whole day was ruined by this ridiculous “tour”. The reward that they promise is not worth your time and may ruin the whole morning and even the whole vacation for some. This whole experience and especially the ethics of it has made me think about holiday-inn altogether in the future and definitely a NO for the...

I am an owner. I have visited this location a few times. I have stayed at the East and West villages. Love them both. Our room in the east is modern and updated, and it's pretty much a full furnished apartment. Clean, safe, and plenty of activities from swimming to zip lines, inflatable slides , miniature golf, and games like kickball, movies, and yoga. My 3 star is not for the regular staff (grounds keeping, pool staff, restaurants, cashier, inital check-in lady). My complaint is for the founders club sales. They are pest. After initial check-in, they send you to a person who tries to bribe you with discounted items or recreational activities (which, in my opinion, should be free for owners) when you refuse to schedule a time their tune changes and they get upset and it is very unprofessional. It is a no-brainer that everything is ran off a sales matrix, and numbers have to be met. Their area of operation is to upsale you and not really customer satisfaction or relaxation, thats another department. So if you ask if I change my mind and want to do a meeting later before you leave, they will say no, the offer is over when you walk away. That is a lie. They will call you the next day and give you a bigger offer of free stuff, stuff they should start with. Then again, if you say no, they get offended. Dont know who teaches your strategy, but it needs work. The resorts are great! I have stayed at a few, and all have been great. (People say no for a reason. No is no).

The mostly good: This was our first time staying here with friends who owned a timeshare. The entire property is well-maintained and nicely planted. We were excited upon arrival to see eight Sandhill Cranes, very exotic birds, but never saw them again the rest of the week. Checking in was pleasant and easy with staff very polite and helpful. The unit was immaculate and there were plenty of towels, soap and kitchen supplies, although they should certainly replace the child’s-toy-level toaster and provide a strainer for the sink drain. Beds were comfortable with clean sheets and all three televisions worked well. The swimming pools are great as is the lazy river with its comfortable inner tubes. Unfortunately, the two miniature golf locations are quite boring. They are about as basic as you can get. Also remember this is NOT an “all-inclusive resort.“. Just about everything you want to do including going down the waterslide costs $$. The only two issues: You are staying at the resort and it is almost impossible to communicate with the main office by phone. You can usually give up 20 to 30 minutes trying to do that, so you might as well just go in. Secondly, even though we reported the issue three times, there was lots of debris (AKA: Garbage) in front of the entrance on both sides. A manager and two other staffers promised it would be cleaned up. During the six days we were there it never was. I cleaned it up myself. Shame on you!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Orange Lake Resort – East Village We’ve been owners here since the 1980s — two timeshares, countless family trips — and this place just keeps getting better. Every visit reminds us why we fell in love with Orange Lake all those years ago. The villas are spacious, clean, and feel like home. Full kitchens, big living spaces, and those peaceful balconies overlooking the greens — perfect for morning coffee or an evening glass of wine. The East Village has that relaxed, tucked-away vibe, but everything is still close by. Between the pools, mini-golf, and easy access to River Island and its lazy river, there’s never a shortage of things to do. The family loves the activities, and we love that there’s truly something for every generation. The staff? They’ve always treated us like family. From the front desk to the gate attendants, everyone goes out of their way to make sure we’re taken care of. What’s amazing is how this resort has grown with the times — always adding new amenities and keeping the property fresh — but it’s still the same place that’s been part of our family memories for decades. Bottom line: Orange Lake Resort East Village isn’t just a vacation spot for us — it’s home. If you’re looking for a place that blends comfort, fun, and that warm “welcome back” feeling, you can’t beat this resort.
