I went to a beautiful sweet 16 party. We arrived about 15 minutes late and people were still setting up while staff stood around. The room had been doubled book with a wedding earlier and that delayed this party. It was cold that day and you had to walk outside down a long corridor to use a restroom. This is Florida so, it shouldn't be a problem. The bathroom was gross. The party was beautiful but that had nothing to do with the location but the host who was stressed out because the hotel under delivered and she didn't get everything she paid for. The hotel didn't even have the decency to apologize for the late start due to their over booking a wedding before hand, that ran over and guests for her party are arriving on time and asked to stand outside in the cold because the room was not even ready. The grounds were nice. The place is huge and easy to get lost. I would not recommend this place for hosting a party or any other event. I say this because, the way the staff acted and the way the managment mishandled the situation. They didn't even comp for the food she paid for and did not even get. 2 entrees missing from the buffet station. There are better venues in 5he area that will go above and beyond to ensure your special...
Read moreBooked a tee time and paid the convenience fee online. The site indicated that $120.00 was due at the course. When I checked in, the course charged me tax and a 2.5% credit card fee in addition to the $120. Of course, the pro shop employee had no sympathy and acted fairly surly.
I understand that Florida golf during February can be expensive but $120 for this course is overpriced. The layout is fairly vanilla and the condition of the course was nothing special.
They only have 80 golf carts which forces the staff to shuttle carts around while golfers wait. As a result, no opportunity to warm up on the range for me.
The website says they expect 18 holes to take 4 hours, 30 minutes. Our foursome was right on pace. But the ranger ordered us off the course in the middle of the 16th hole at the stroke of sunset - exactly 4 hours after our tee time. No notice. No apology. We had at least 20 minutes more of playable daylight. And, no opportunity to discuss with the pro shop because they closed before sunset.
So - the course itself deserves a 3.5 star rating but overall gets 2 stars because of the misleading, rude and unfriendly management attitude. I won’t...
Read moreThe course is great! It was wide and there wasn’t too much water for an average golfer.
But the guy behind the counter was very rude. He came up playing the course after we tee’d off and came up swearing at us when we were playing 6 people after the guy getting our carts said that we were the last ones and could play 6 people. We weren’t holding anyone up and we were right behind a single person who was behind a double.
The guys name is John Kennedy who was rude to us. He needs to be held accountable. No one who comes to that course should be treated like that especially when you pay the money and are being nothing but respectful to the people who work there.
Special shout out to the guy who helped with getting the carts put our bags in and wished us good luck. When we came back in he came and put our head covers on all of our clubs and cleaned them all as well. He was the nicest guy ever. His name was Karl Beeker.
Besides the one guy the course was great and everyone else there was very respectful and was nice...
