The shower
I stayed in room 105 and I was not able to turn the shower on. It was a little after 9
AM when I went to the office only to find it locked and the room dark. A sign posted at
the door suggested checking at room 102 for help. The door at 102 was open and
there was a woman sitting on the bed with her back to me and there were either two
or three people in there with her. I reported the problem to her and she said I need to
pull the handle very hard. I told her I pulled it hard as well as pushed and turned the
handle far left and right. I said if I were to pull it any harder I was afraid I'd pull it from
the wall. She said to pull it as hard as I could and if there was any damage she would
take responsibility. I returned to my room, got undressed and went back into the
shower taking a crouched position similar to a quarterback ready to take the snap
from the center. I pulled as hard as I could and was able to turn the water on. After
my shower I went back to room 102 and suggested someone lubricate that faucet so
it it wasn't so difficult to turn on. She said the problem was with a "cartridge" that
needed to be ordered.
The shower curtain was ineffective. The shower rod was bow shaped which ,
properly installed , would afford the occupant a little more upper body room.
Apparently someone or something heavy hung from the rod so that instead of the
curved rod pointing toward the opposite wall it pointed diagonally toward the floor.
With the rod in that position the curtain could not hang horizontally instead gravity
took it to the lowest point of the curved rod exposing about a foot and a half at the
front and rear of the tub water on the floor was unavoidable. It appeared as if there
was water damage outside of the tub at the faucet end. The obvious question here is
how much of an effort would it take to properly reattach the brackets that hold the
curtain.
Key card.
Twice the key card to my room did not open my door and a red light appeared on the
door lock. The first time I took it to the office and it was reprogrammed. When it
happened a second time I took it to the office and, rather than reprogramming that
card, the lady printed a new card.
The bathroom door.
There is damage on the bathroom side of the door as if it were punched. This is not a
difficult fix . Why leave it for...
was two adults, child, and dog staying here. There was a slight mishap with the gentleman out front on arrival. All of the roads/ lots to their parking lot are coned off and we were having a hard time figuring out how to get in. We seen a yard/ dirt area with tracks through it along the roadway and assumed it was the way people were going in... We were very wrong, unfortunately. And the gentleman came out -before we were even parked- very rudely saying "now you can find a rake and fix my yard!". However, the lady at the front desk was pleasant about the situation and apologized on behalf of the gentleman who was her son. We appreciated this. In regards to the room, it was pleasant enough. No coffee pot. It wasn't filthy and the beds were clean. Although the beds were hard as a rock and killed my back, but that's a preference based opinion. Plenty of clean towels and toiletries. It didn't stink or anything like that. My only complaint is that the refrigerator was VERY loud and woke me up every time it kicked on. We had my 9mo large breed dog with us. She gets excited and happy barks at people and no one complained or seemed too put off by her which by far makes up for the hard bed and loud fridge. If we're ever in the area again we'd probably stay here again. PSA: If you have a dog that needs grass to potty, you'll have to walk a ways because there's really no grassy areas to potty. We had to use a leafy wooded area across the street...
Read moreThis is simply an awful place. Should have seen lack of cars in the parking lot as a sign. The rooms are dark, dingy and dirty. Had we not already traveled 6 hours we would have left.
It is the kind of room where you never feel comfortable. There were holes in the walls. Dirty bathtub with cigarette burns. Gouges in the tile floor. The finish on the furniture is wearing thin. Door didn't close properly. You had to hold the TV remote control tightly together in order to make it work. We stayed fully clothed and slept on top of the blankets instead of underneath.
The free continental breakfast consisted of coffee, juice, bagel and a mini-muffin. There is no area where you can sit and eat this meager offering, you either stand there and eat or bring it back to your room.
If you walk back with your "breakfast" don't pay any attention to all the litter in the parking lot
On the plus side it did have a nice print on the wall.
You get the impression that the management of this hotel simply does not care. This hotel is sub par on every level. Choice Hotels and Ecnolodge should be not only embarrassed of this seedy dive but strip this hotel of its brand...
