I love visiting Fredericksburg, and I have always wanted to stay there overnight. I stayed at STAY ONERA an awe-inspiring resort. I chose to stay at the majestic "Live Oak Lodge," just 3 minutes from Fredericksburg downtown. I stayed at this FABULOUS Container home that offers incredible luxury and access to the gorgeous view of nature. The two-bedroom home features a private ADA-accessible plunge pool, a private cedar soaking tub, internet, A/C, heat, a private bathroom, and an efficient kitchen including countertop burners, mini fridge, convection oven/air fryer/toaster, coffee maker, and butcher block countertops. I enjoyed so much the Rooftop deck with an outdoor dining area (non-ADA) I did my yoga in the morning to stretch my body, I'm just recovering from an ACL INJURY. You even have an outdoor grill and a private firepit, perfect for the fall and winter seasons.
The guests also have access to a communal pool, barrel sauna, jacuzzi spa, and oak grove tree deck with hammocks and swinging chairs. The common modern areas and facilities were clean and well kept, and the container pool is a lot of fun because it has a glass for the view, indeed Stay Onera is a VIP and lovely experience to celebrate an anniversary, reconciliation, celebrate romance, honeymoon or just for you to relax alone to meditate in nature.
The place is easy to find, and you have two car parking areas with the respective name of your lodging OR glamping experience. We found the home-container clean and impeccable, everything in order, the pool super clean, and the hot tub. They have the best cleaning service, and if you have any problem, you can always call the number provided to address any inconvenience. They respond very quickly and effectively; that's why you have a contact number to call :) You always get a complimentary bottle of wine or champagne, a luxurious box of chocolates, and, the best part, silk rose petals on the bed. When I saw the bed, I screamed because it was such a gorgeous touch to the bedroom upon our arrival.
The wineries in the region have become a powerhouse on the national wine scene in the Texas Hill Country, with more than 30 wineries and vineyards dotting the area, many of which lie on U.S. Highway 290, or Wine Road 290, as it is quickly becoming known. I did a wine tour with some friends and then decided to meet my husband at STAY ONERA to surprise him by booking this gateway.
If you stay during the week is more affordable than on weekends. This is the perfect destination to escape from the major cities of TX, Austin, Dallas, or Houston. Whether you're planning a girls' trip, a honeymoon, or a solo vacay, these hot travel spots are seriously the next-level luxe, and you can book 'em all right now for the holidays, so hurry up!
IDK, who needs to hear this, but you deserve to travel like a damn celebrity...even if you're only famous in your mind. Now that I'm getting older, I decided to travel more around TEXAS, and I highly recommend STAY ONERA since they offer a huge variety of places to stay not only in this spacious container (LODGINGexperience) but Stay Onera also offers unique luxurious (GLAMPING experiences) from luxury treehouses and canvas safari-like structures to a geodesic dome, yurts.
You won't regret booking this place because memories are important and you are responsible for building your own experiences. I love modern architecture, and I learned this place was designed by...

I made a promise to myself to set aside a little money each month so I can take a proper break and treat myself to somewhere special every seven months. This time, Onera was my choice, and wow—what a perfect pick!
From the second you step through the gates (don’t forget your code!), you’re transported to a peaceful haven among wildflowers, cedar trees, and wandering wildlife. It's pure magick. The designs here are a delight—from the butterfly-shaped Monarch to the Sage Safari and the Spyglass—each space feels like stepping into a little piece of art, begging for repeat visits just to experience them all.
One of my favorite parts? The way the natural landscape is allowed to flourish untouched. It adds to the whole "glamping" vibe, where everything feels effortless, like nature is just doing its thing. Every unit comes with its own hot tub (which, let’s be honest, pairs perfectly with a glass of wine or a cocktail!), plus there are three communal pools to explore—one warm pool flanked by two cooler ones on either side.
There’s a cozy firepit for roasting s’mores, a giant hammock by the pool deck for star-gazing or sun-soaking, and even a sauna tucked by the pool. We didn’t get to try the sauna since the sun was already setting, but that just means a return trip is in order!
Oh, and the weather? Absolute bliss. Leaving Austin’s 86-degree mornings for the brisk 57-degree air of the Hill Country was a treat all on its own. Waking up with a cup of coffee from the Nespresso machine, strolling through the quiet with deer grazing nearby—it was pure magic. Sure, you might catch a little hum from the highway, but it’s more like a distant whisper than anything distracting.
I slept like a baby, felt so rejuvenated, and found fresh inspiration in the stillness. Honestly, I can already feel another trip to Onera...
Read moreI’d like to start by saying this place is really cool and different from regular places to stay! We enjoyed that aspect of it. Everything else was kind of … not so good. My husband and i came and stayed at the Cocoon for his birthday. We stayed for 2 nights. I’m going to list off some things i really hope management will attend to. Spending over $700 a night, we definitely expected something more luxurious than what we experienced. Here’s our rant: -Our hot tub connected to our room was dirty, hair, white flakes, who knows what was floating in it. -The community pool was green and hazy, we ended up not getting in because it looked so gross. -The sauna was not working, and there was no instructions anywhere to figure out how to make it work. (I think it was broken even if the there was) My husband was really looking forward to this and it was a bummer we couldn’t use this amenity. -the community jacuzzi was so disgusting, i only put my feet in. And even doing that grossed me out. I’m talking full blown build up of brown stuff all around the inside. The water was also greenish. -the cocoon advertises a king size bed, which is one of the reasons we chose this room. It has a queen, not a king. We were unpleasantly surprised at that when we arrived. -we got a complimentary bottle of wine which was great! But there was only one wine glass equipped with the room. So one of us had to drink our wine out of a coffee cup… romantic! -there are “quiet” hours but we could hear dogs close by barking at all hours of the night, which was super un-relaxing. -dishes/glasses/utensils were all some what dirty and had to be cleaned before using.
Overall, it’s a hip and exotic place to stay. But that’s really all your paying for. Management needs to keep up with the place better, and make sure it’s a lot cleaner. Unfortunately we will probably not be back and don’t plan on recommending this place to others. For $700 a night, treat yourself to something...
