As we already know this motel from to previous stays some years ago the "Dietzel Motel" was our first choice to ask for a room . As we entered the lobby on a saturday the very friendly and helpful woman working there offered us a room - and the price was really fair ! Of course , more expensive than during the week what is usual but still ok ( compared to other motels in Fredericksburg ) and worth the money !||Our room was equipped with everything you need and extremely clean ! There's also a very nice and well maintained pool outside which we enjoyed to use !||In the morning free coffee is offered at the lobby and wifi is very fast !||What we liked most : the atmosphere here ! You' ll love it !||By the way , we spent two nights here and met another very friendly and helpful woman working at the front desk - and had a nice smalltalk . You feel being welcome here !||Thanks to the management for offering still fair prices even on weekends here ! Without having got a room in the "Dietzel Motel " we wouldn't have spent the night in Fredericksburg ! We really appreciate that !||Thanks for a wonderful stay and greetings in the meantime back from Stuttgart , Germany !||Annett &...
Read moreWent for a girls weekend getaway, it is an older motel so we knew that as we got there, we got a room with double beds ( room 105 ) As first entered the room we killed 4 crawling bugs, the carpet is so out dated and filthy, we had to go buy sandals to walk on the floors, the corner of the walls and behind the doors had dead bugs, didn’t look like it hadn’t been swept, we stayed 2 nights unfortunately on our last night my sister and I got bit by something and left welts on us, don’t think they were bedbugs as that was the first thing we checked for when we got there, pretty sure it was a spider, as we killed a few, the room had a small refrigerator and a microwave that came in handy and a coffee pot, it’s a 4 cup pot so if your a coffee drinker ask for extra coffee at the front desk, the Pro is the beds are comfortable and the A/C worked great, I do have to say we do live in the country so bugs aren’t a very big deal for us, but the dirty floors were a bit disappointing, if your looking for a place to just lay your head for over night, this may be a ok place, but for a weekend getaway I’ll leave...
Read moreI've stayed at this motel on seven or eight occasions over the years. I like it because (a) it's pretty retro and (b) it's so well-maintained. This is the type of motor court that was built 50 years ago, the kind where you pull your auto up right to the door of your room.
I pass up the nearby Holiday Inn Express to stay at the Dietzel. There's a pool and a nice lawn out front. There's no free breakfast (but TANSTAAFB, anyway).
The owner-managers are great, the rooms are clean, and the beds are comfy. What's...
