Knights Inn Galax — Hotel in Galax

Live spider on my pillow, dead bug next to the bed, dead fly in the breakfast refrigerator.||||This room smelled so badly I could not sleep. I opened a window, only to find that the window lead to some kind of storage, which had noxious or septic fumes pouring out of it into the room.||||Pubic hair in my bed sheets.||||Continental breakfast consisted of coffee, Raisin Bran, Frosted Flakes, plain bread, Little Debbie's mini donuts, a little bit of milk left in a gallon jug, a little bit of Sunny D (not juice) in a gallon jug-- kept in a fridge that had a dead fly in it and appeared not to be defrosted for many months. ||||There was not even an apology given by owners/management when I told them there was a dead fly in the fridge.||||Although there was apparent effort made to keep the place cleaned and maintained, there are fundamental issues not dealt with, causing most awful smells, and absolute penny pinching leading to absolute false advertising on the breakfast-- never seen anything like it.||||The pool had been filled with dirt and turned into some kind of defunct garden.||||The owners had some cooking going on on a propane stove outside that made the whole property smell like curry.||||This place turned my stomach, and the memory of it makes me nauseated. ||||If you are the least bit sensitive to smells, do...

NEVER STAY AT THIS MOTEL!!!!!!!!!! my wife and i are currently staying here. we got here on 4/30/17 around 12pm. i called around 230am to see if it would be possible for us to check in early he said that it would be fine. we also asked if they had cribs we were told yes. we got here around noon we were made to wait until 2pm to check in after calling early morning to check in early so we couldnt. they then said that they could move us to a room with 2 beds. ok thats fine ill take the room with 2 beds. oh you have to pay 5 dollars right now for me to move your room. ok thats fine i will pay 5 dollars for us to move rooms. then i asked just 5 now for the whole time we are here. no pay 5 dollars per day. im like no im not paying more for your mistake. they then called the manager who was at a different motel. they had a crib there and made us wait until 6pm for the crib. keep in mind that my son has been in a car since 230 this morning. hes cranky and ready for a nap my son had to sleep on the floor in the motel because of there mistake. i wasnt expecting this place to be 5 stars or nothing like that. but come on your customer service should make up for the cheap rates. As many other reviewers mention, the rooms are dated, but they are clean and efficient. Beautiful views from the room. We come from an exterminator family and check for bedbugs and know what to look for, our room was free and clear of them. Daily cleaning service left clean towels and more soap and toilet paper. Mini fridge and microwave in room. No breakfast offered, but we knew that and didn't need it. There is no coffee pot in the room, which surprised me, but we aren't coffee drinkers, but I figure that could be an issue for some. Plenty of nearby places to go to get breakfast and coffee, though. Service was very good, internet wasn't working at first for me, but the front desk called me in the room quickly with a resolution that worked. Floors, beds, sinks, toilets, and tubs all clean. A few cobwebs, but they can pop up anytime and easy to brush away. I saw no bugs anywhere. And I rarely heard other guests, probably only if they walked by our door talking. Would definitely stay here again. Very close to downtown Galax, which is a very quaint, pleasant town. We stayed 3 nights to visit...
