Panorama Point HOA — Hotel in Gatlinburg

NOTE: this review is for a VRBO vacation rental home located at Panorama Point HOA (Christmas weekend). Awesome. Just a great location to lodge up during your Smokies getaway. There are so many aspects to like about this location. It's situated in Upper Gatlinburg, which provides a panoramic view of Gatlinburg and gives an almost exclusive experience of snow. Our vacation home was a 2-floor chalet with a private hot tub (2nd floor deck) and a sauna (inside!). The rooms were simply cozy! You gotta experience soaking in 104 degree (40 C) water while it's below freezing! There is a community pool (closed in winter) and a hot tub too. (I'd recommend renting a chalet with a private tub.) There are pizzas places that deliver food to that area too. While main Gatlinburg is down the mountain, 10 mins away, the Sugarland Visitor Center of Smokies NP is just 15 mins away. A few caveats to take note: During winter, if it's snowing, you will (probably) need a 4x4 and/or snow tires to reach this area to overcome steep gradients. The roads looked maintained though. Secondly, cellular reception is patchy so plan to connect to WiFi and download offline maps for navigation. Fun note: it's possible to descend the entire mountain on...

Beautiful views, quiet area way away from town. The rental we (5 adults) stayed in was upkept and clean. The only 2 problems were that for a non smoking rental the smell of smoke and the cigarette burn on the bathroom counter were a dead give away that clearly someone did not get that memo. I sprayed the place down with febreeze for 2 days before it started to smell remotely smoke free. The second thing is there was no way to know which parking spots are assigned to where. This seemed to cause concern for some of our neighbors on one end. There was a vehicle shift of sorts causing them to park farther away unloading. Wonderful home with plenty of extras. Very well stocked kitchen, comfortable furnishing, large deck and amazing views! There were all types of games, including Candy Land, Yatzee and Phase 10 just to name a few, as well as children's books. A huge plus when traveling with small children! Then there are the "small things" that can mean so much. A small sewing kit, bandaids, dental floss, etc. The management was quick to respond when we had a question. We haven't even gotten home yet and are already planning...
