We stayed in the 8 bedroom Mt. LeConte Lodge in Gatlinburg managed by the Gatlinburg Falls management company. We had 14 people and occupied all 8 bedrooms. The unit was clean but extremely worn, dated and in desperate need of upkeep, general maintenance and repair. The website advertises seating in the kitchen for 18 and we had trouble seating 10 normal sized people. There were simply no chairs for anyone to sit only two benchs on either side of a table and a bar with 2 mismatched chairs. The refrigerator was small, beat up, missing parts and and did I say very, very small. Come on... this is a 8 bedroom cabin. Why on earth would you have a refrigerator this small? It is a good thing we brought several coolers. It was unseasonably warm, so setting drinks on the outside deck did not work. The stove was in similar shape, the bottom drawer was broken. The stovetop did work but was extremely warn and a real challenge to cook on. The kitchen cabinets were mismatched, did not fit, and just hanging on. The carpet had burn marks from what appeared to be an iron in multiple places. Several bathrooms had mold growing in the corners of the floor and wall. The bathroom sink faucets were loose and one of the bathroom showers when used, leaked into the lower floor bathroom. The cabin listed a media room, basically this room contains a pool table, TV and two couches, with one of the couches on a elevated floor. We did not even try the outside hot tub. It had several panels missing and the cover was for a different hot tub. The wood floors have seen much better days, lots of burn spots and mistreatment. The view from the cabin is obstructed by trees that have not been trimmed in quite some time. So if you are looking for that magical view, search elsewhere. We informed Gatlinburg Falls of the poorly maintained cabin general damage, shower leak and missing blankets. They were supposed to send us several blankets, however they never came. Gatlinburg Falls did offer a discount, but to be brutally honest, it was laughable, once you take into account all of the issues and our time spent reporting them. I mean we actually came to Gatlinburg to have fun and relax. Reporting problems to a management company was near the bottom on our list of things to do. The maintenance man did stop by, but was unable to verify the leak. All in all, we had a great time in Gatlinburg, we always do. Except for the cabin and traffic everything was spectacular. The Tennessee Vols even beat South Carolina...

The Cabin I gave it 3 stars because I have a mixed review based on mine and the experiences of other members of my party. Because of my last experience in a cabin in the area I expected better. The furniture was dated and we had problems with not enough sheets and blankets. The mattresses were old and uncomfortable, and at least one of the shower heads was broken. However, the water was hot, the hot tub was clean and functioned well, there was cable tv, the pool table (bring chalk) was nice, the air hockey and foosball (missing knobs) functioned well, and everything was overall clean. Wildlife The wildlife (bears and ants) just welcomed themselves on in, but this should be expected when you are in their environment. The bears actually presented themselves outside of the cabin and did climb onto our back 2nd level deck, but that was because we put our trash on the back porch because ants got in them. Don't leave trash out! It was nice seeing the bears though, they were just hungry and didn't mean us no harm, however, never approach or feed wildlife! The view (Panoramic) Le'Conte is located on the very top of the mountain and is the last cabin at the end of the lot. The view is amazing, so if you love views this is for you! It's located in Gatlinburg and you can see clear across to pigeon forge. At night the Parkway (the strip) is lit up like a Christmas tree and those ferris wheels are very bright and colorful. On the left is a beautiful mountainside lit up with attractions and other cabins. On the back side is a view of the mountains and in the morning time you get that signature fog coming off the mountain tops that looks like slow smoke rolling over the edges. Priceless! We really enjoyed ourselves overall as you can't expect everything to be perfect. Just make sure to bring extra blankets and trash bags and a vehicle that's capable of scaling those steep inclines without running hot, and be ready for BEARS! If I were to do this again I would be more prepared. However, based on my experiences, I do recommend Le' Conte as a nice place to relax, spend time with family, get away, and enjoy the view. P.S. Check out Captain Jim's Seafood Buffet in Pigeon Forge. $25 adult buffet ($39 with crab leggs unlimited) $21 children, 4 and under eat free, 10% senior citizens and veterans discount. It's well worth it!

The cabin is a nice cabin, however it has a few flaws. One of the bathrooms downstairs have built up dirt in the corner by the tub and the light fixtures throughout the house has built up dust on them. My sister and her husbands room has spider webs underneath and my sister was bit by a spider. There are plenty of spiders that we have had to kill throughout the cabin. They need to exterminate. The refrigerator is extremely small, although there is space for a larger one. You would think a cabin that can accommodate a large group would be better equipped. There's only one ironing board (a small one) and iron. We brought a full sized ironing board and iron because of a large group. With all the money that is being paid to rent this place, guest shouldn't be subject to a broken/cracked patched up counter. The ABSOLUTE worst thing is the trash pick up. Today is Wednesday. We arrived Saturday (which means we've been here for 5 days). My niece have called several time for trash pick up and no one has picked up yet (although she was told 2-4 hours). We have went out and returned and the trash is still here. We have over 20 people here and both breakfast and dinner has been prepared each day. The 2 areas for trash is full and we're now storing trash in the cabin (which is unsanitary). If the bags were placed outside, we risk possible visitors from unwanted animals. The renters of this property can do better. We paid a lot of money for a 7 day stay. We hope the service get better.
