Made reservations for last camping trip of the season. Called the 800 number to make sure water and electricity were still available and told all services were available until Nov 28. When we arrived we checked in remotely through the call box at the entrance. As we pulled in the dump/fill station had signs that said closed for the season. Found our campsite which was full hook up (water, sewer and electric) and the water was turned off. Went back to the call box and were told well the park said they were available, find the ranger or go to the host campsite or call the emergency number posted. There is no number posted, there is no ranger and there is no host. Checked again with call center about a refund since we can't stay without water, told not their problem talk to the camp. Drove around and found camp headquarters up the road, a large sign said Closed. Happened to see a sign that said Water around the side of the building with a drinking water hose attached and water was on. Had to attach our hose to that hose to reach the road where our camper was parked and were able to fill tanks. This is not what I would expect for supposed full hook up. Lucky we saw the water sign or we would have been on our way back home, 2 1/2 hours away. I don't know what it's like in the summer time but wouldn't recommend for...
Read moreWhat a great campground. The views are superb. The water is crystal clear. The campsites are large. Lots of options for different types of camping. Everything from full hookups, to just electric, to straight up tent camping. Its mostly wooded so unless you are close to the water, you'll probably be in the shade. The park is well kept. Grass is mowed. Bathrooms and showers are clean with plenty of hot water for showers. Spots can be tough to maneuver so practice first if this is your first time hauling a trailer. Once parked and plugged in, make sure whichever outlet you use (30v or 50v), that the breaker is on. Mine was off and I've seen others mention it, so just a heads up there. Park allows pets which is cool, but don't be that person that hooks up their dog and lets them bark the whole time, please. That's just rude and inconsiderate. Lake access is plentiful and swimming is awesome. Just a great time. We rented a pontoon boat at GO FAST Rentals for the day which was 300 for the day plus gas. Worth it to go swimming off of and cruise around the lake. Plus you can dock it on the shore and grab lunch back at your campsite! I can't say enough good things about this campground. If you love camping and swimming, this is the...
Read moreWe will NEVER return to this campground. The DNR/ ranger was very inflammatory causing dissension with campers. He used his position to bully them. He was unprofessional in his conversation and mannerisms. He was flashing his light in campers faces and was argumentative. He requested music be turned down, the campers complied but he still argued with them. He then returned 2 hours later with the police stating that there was music playing, which was a lie. He also lied in front of the police officers about shining his light in campers faces. As he left this DNR officer unplugged the campers RV without notifying them. This behavior is incorrigible. He represents the Michigan State Parks. There are so many campgrounds in Michigan, this makes me consider avoiding all of them. It will be a long time if ever that I will use a...
