We stayed one night while visiting friends in nearby Beverly. ||The rates were lower here than other area hotels, and we hadn’t planned on doing much more than sleeping here, so the Sea Lion was a perfect choice for us.||||We had a room on the lower level and couldn’t see the ocean from our windows, but you can see it in the distance from the parking lot. The upper level rooms appeared to have good views from the balconies outside. There is an outdoor pool, but it hadn’t opened for the season yet when we stayed.||||Our room was tiny, with a queen bed, a small table with two chairs, a closet and a mini fridge and microwave. A small TV sat atop a chest of drawers. There was just enough room to walk around the bed, but little more. Again, this was fine as we spent very little time in the room. There was an adjacent bathroom with a tub/shower combo. If you are looking to stretch out here over a couple of days, you’ll want to request a larger unit.||||All in all, we found our stay enjoyable enough. The staff at the front desk was friendly and our room was very clean. We did have to relocate 3 spiders found walking on the ceiling over the course of our stay, but that’s likely due to the change in seasons in New England. They were small and innocuous enough, and I mention it only so that housekeeping can keep an extra eye out for possible “roommates”. Additionally, the bed in our room (I don’t recall the unit number) was starting to sag in the middle. We slept pretty...

Read moreI was visiting family. For us it was perfect location. On my way to sea lion they called me and asked if I wanted an upgrade! I originally purchased a room for 3 days then they upgraded me to a cottage! It was perfect! The beds were a lot more comfortable than what I slept on before our trip at the Hyatt! I was so impressed! Then when we decided to extend our stay they had availability and only charged me for the room rate not the cottage rate! Cottage had a pull out coach which my oldest was happy about! Front desk was so incredibly kind. When you're a single mom traveling with two kids sometimes you don't get the warm impressions from workers. But this was NOT the case, my kids keep asking when we can go back! I felt safe and not worried about my surroundings! It felt like home! Also to mention if you have a dairy allergy then check out holy cow...
