The hotel is clean and comfortable, but EV drivers should be aware that there is nowhere to charge—not even at Level-1 speed. An exterior outlet exists, yet guests are not allowed to use it. We plugged in overnight, only to find the car unplugged the next morning and a pair of traffic cones blocking the space where the outlet exists (photo)—despite plenty of open parking elsewhere. When we asked about charging at the front desk, the conversation felt curt and unwelcoming.

Over the past three years we’ve stayed at many hotels with our EV and have always been allowed to trickle-charge overnight. Here, however, the staff made it clear we weren’t welcome to do so and left us feeling unwelcome overall. Unplugging a guest’s vehicle in the middle of the night is unacceptable, especially after we’d booked several nights and spent dollars. If you rely on charging your EV during your stay, you may want to look elsewhere.

ADDITION FOR OWNER'S ''RESPONSE'': Thank you for your response, although it does not accurately reflect our experience.

To be clear, we explicitly asked the staff at the front desk if we could charge our vehicle and were told no. The unwelcoming tone of that conversation is what we mentioned in our initial review.

Your reply confirms the most troubling parts of our stay: you admit to unplugging our vehicle overnight without our knowledge and then blocking the parking space with traffic cones. To do this when numerous other parking spaces were available felt deliberately hostile. Unplugging a guest's equipment and physically preventing them from parking is an unacceptable way to treat anyone, especially paying customers. I suppose we should be grateful the cones weren't wired with electricity on top of that. This was one of the rudest and most unwelcoming treatments we have ever...

During our recent trip to Gloucester and The Vista, we had an incredible experience. Normally, we visit the St. Lawrence River in New York, but due to the poor air quality caused by the Canadian Wildfires, we decided to explore a new destination with cleaner air. We were uncertain where to stay, but luckily my wife stumbled upon The Vista, primarily because of its proximity to the famous Good Harbor Beach. Initially, I was concerned about the distance from downtown, but to our delight, it turned out to be a perfect location for our stay. Not only was it child-friendly and safe, but it also boasted a fantastic heated in-ground pool.

Despite the beach being just across the road, we decided to drive, and it worked out wonderfully. Parking was easily available near the beach, although it came at a cost. However, we found it to be well worth the convenience it offered. The accommodations at The Vista were clean, comfortable, and exuded simplicity, but the highlight was undeniably the breathtaking 5-star views we enjoyed. The well-maintained grounds and the cleanliness of the whole property truly reflected the pride of ownership at The Vista. Moreover, the staff was extremely friendly and always ready to assist us. We were pleased with the continental breakfast provided, which served as a great start to our days.

If you're visiting Gloucester for the first time, I highly recommend choosing The Vista as your accommodation. You will not be disappointed! Despite staying a little farther away from downtown, we were able to explore it every night thanks to the excellent recommendations from the helpful staff...

Just wrapped a weekend stay at The Vista in Gloucester and honestly? It’s a total gem. Perched on a hill overlooking Good Harbor Beach, the views alone are worth the trip, sunrises from the balcony hit different. The rooms are super clean, retro in the best way, and come with everything you need for a chill, low-key escape. Plus, they’ve got that old-school motel charm but upgraded with modern touches (shoutout to the heated pool and solid WiFi).

Location-wise, it’s perfect. Your minutes from downtown Gloucester’s food scene, Rockport’s coastal vibes, and all the North Shore hiking trails your heart could want. And the staff? So friendly and helpful, it felt like staying with family (but the kind that lets you sleep in). Highly recommend if you’re looking for an affordable, no-stress beach getaway with major nostalgia and solid New...
