My non-smoking room reeked of smoke. The smell was so bad I felt sick by the second day.
The parking lot consistently had lawn chairs full of smokers late at night. I did not feel comfortable leaving my room after dark.
The shower door did not close, because the floor was uneven, so the door would slide downhill and open anytime you tried to shut it. There was water damage to the floor because you couldn't possibly prevent the water from leaking all over. The bathroom ceiling had significant water damage, presumably from a similar issue above.
Most things were broken. The lampshades were torn. A lamp had been built into the wall in the exact place the deadbolt sat, so it was impossible to open the deadbolt without getting your hand smashed between the wall and the lamp, and the lamp had been torn beyond repair because of it.
The lock to my door did not work reliably. It took 10 minutes for me to get into my room one night, and the lock was only fixed once I met the manager, who was the only kind employee I met.
There were minimal toiletries provided. We ran out of toilet paper, and there was one tiny packet of 2-1 conditioning shampoo as far as toiletries went.
I was not provided an ice bucket or a do not disturb sign, and went I went to the front desk to ask for both, I received a random dusty lunch tupperware and a door hanger that said something about towels. He was unable to answer any of my questions no matter how I phrased them. During my long weekend, I felt severely unwelcome by the front desk staff, especially the night shift.
At 11am, I was waiting in the front lobby for an Uber and was kicked out of the office. A perfectly reasonable hour to want to stand in the only room that didn't reek of smoke.
I called before arriving to let the staff know my flight had been delayed and so I would be checking in late, and I was told that that was fine. A different staff member called me mid flight to ask when I was checking in. Both employees could not work outside of their script. When I inquired about potentially being a day late, the man on the phone shut down and gave me either the option of cancelling the trip entirely or speaking to the manager the next day, after the cancellation policy would've lost affect.
Housekeeping was ridiculously inconsistent about what hour of the day they showed up. The first day, she arrived while I was sleeping. In her defense, I did not have a do not disturb sign. The door was locked and deadbolted. She knocked. For 3 minutes. When I finally got up and opened the door, it took some convincing to get her to go away. The second day, she did pass us by because I had the door hanger up, but the third day it had fallen to the ground so we received the same incessant knocking at 9am, when check out wasn't until 11. You'd think that there would be a better system for this mess.
I will not be...
Read moreI gave this hotel to Stars the reason being last month in February I have spent a whole month in that hotel paid them Faithfully every morning it starts at around 7 they have a big cart the wheels are very squeaky and very loud and it starts rolling through the walkway every morning the friendly staff asked us every day as soon as we open the door are we checking out now because of the virus I was very scared to let anybody in because they're going to multiple rooms collecting germs now unfortunately the manager said they had to change the bed sheets at least once a week and I can understand you know keeping a clean room but I let them change the bed sheets and sweep the floor you know I take care of my stuff I clean up after myself so there's not that much to clean up but they had to come in once a week to change the bed sheets so I was all right with that the breakfast was the same thing for four or five days until they changed it to biscuits and sausage the only thing I really had a problem with is I ask for a late check-out and I keep in mind I came in real late that night 12 at night and I just woke up at 10:30 and you had to be out of the rain by 11 I stayed there the prior night and ask for another late check-out because I mean I got there at 1 in the morning and it was only 6 hours that I stayed the lady over the phone said why are you asking for a late check-out for the last 2 days I told her just like I'm saying to you I'd stayed here for a whole month faithfully and paid on time I was only asking for 30 minutes to an hour to get all my stuff together that's really how you're going to do me after I paid Faithfully a whole month you guys really need to work on your customer service I don't think I want to go back plus you can get a bargain going on hotel.com for $74 I've even found it cheaper as 60 he charges rates is $84 every night please keep that in mind if you decide to stay here tonight go online and purchase it or Reserve as well as I wanted to let you guys know since I stayed there for a whole month I really didn't do much to the hotel room so they didn't give me back my $50 deposit but for the last two nights they wanted to check to see if we did anything wrong...
Read moreI arrived and within maybe 10 minutes I was looking at other hotels to switch to (unfortunately it's illegal to car camp in SC) I ended up staying the night due to my finances and I urge you to not follow my lead. This was the worst hotel I've been in and I've stayed in a ton of iffy hotels around the country but holy hell. Upon arriving the guy was nice enough but was attempting to rush me for signatures while I was reading the terms and agreements as I always do and took note of how he mentioned more than 3 times if anything is damaged i would be charged...understandable, every hotel has that policy but it was the fact it was stated so many times and im only here for a night. I finally get to the room and have to try the key card multiple times before it works. The room looked NOTHING like the pictures. Maybe I have an old room idk but stained carpet, linens and walls, with a rancid smell almost like mold and a men’s sweaty locker room (this smell actually woke me up twice in the night with how bad it was) and poorly done maintenance to look like it's been kept up with (and since the employee made such an effort to tell me how I would be charged for damages I IMMEDIATELY took photos and videos of everything just in case- I will not be charged for stuff I did not do) Aside from all of that there's so much construction pulling in it was almost hard to see the entrance and the area felt sketchy with multiple random men just sitting outside and walking around. The noise level was insane and I’ve lived in big cities where noise doesn’t bother me but this was absurd. My door did not feel secure with the lock and my car didn't feel secure in the lot. The reviews and 'nice' pictures made me think this was a decent choice considering it was $100 but honestly it should be illegal to charge more than $20 a night here. I was catfished. I also never leave reviews and on my life wouldn't send someone I disliked here. I want my money back lol
ps. BUGS !!! literal spiders and...
