EXCLUSIVO INN & SUITES — Hotel in Grand Prairie

I wanted to like this motel because it was cheap and the lady at the front desk seemed really nice, but I ended up having 3 issues which were hard to overlook.

They say they have free wifi. In reality, the wifi connects but never has actual internet. It will say "Connected without internet" and it doesnt really matter where you walk on premises. Even in the parking lot it said that. I think maybe they need a new and better wifi router.

They advertise free TV. In reality, the TV are smart TVs that require internet to function, so when the internet is down (which is always), you can't watch TV either.

The place near loud railroad tracks so I had trouble sleeping. Finally started drifting off at around 7 A.M. Checkout wasn't until 11, but housekeeping staff woke me up at around 9 A.M., by knocking a couple times then barging in. I set an alarm for 10:45 (15 minutes before checkout) and tried to fall back asleep for a while, but then at 10:30 the dude was back knocking again and opened my door a second time. I not only didn't feel safe, or respected, but the whole point of a motel is you pay for a certain number of hours to sleep and not be disturbed. I don't think housekeeping should even be coming around until checkout time, let alone entering rooms. It's just rude and defies common courtesy.

The door had a missing deadbolt in it and the hole was simply stuffed with what appeared to be toilet paper. It gave a pretty sketchy vibe.

Listen, you get what you pay for.

The door to our room has a deadbolt and a door knob lock. That would be a plus, if the key would actually lock the deadbolt and the plate for the door knob lock was decently attached. If you are not in your room, anyone is one or two shoulder charges away from having your stuff. The locks on the windows are at least more secure than the locks on your door. Unfortunately, not the highest of bars to exceed, but I did need to mention the only upside at this place. Good luck getting any wifi speeds higher than 1Mbps or a TV that will function. If you're looking for sleep, tell me if you find it, because it won't be here.

Edit: Attempted to leave and was accosted/reprimanded by the staff. I voiced concerns and they did their best to keep me there while not having addressed the previous concerns.

I understand that you're not gonna get a 5 star experience when you're trying to travel for cheap, but this place wasn't worth saving a few dollars.

The person working the desk was super friendly and sweet, but when we got to the room it was a wreck. There was a hole punched in the wall, and the door frame was completely cracked. The door itself wasn't installed properly so there was a huge gap to the outside. When we tried to leave and lock the door, it was completely unable to lock, leaving all our stuff inside completely vulnerable to someone breaking in. We requested another room and there weren't any available, but the person at the desk said the owner was on his way to fix the door. He never showed. We ended up leaving.
