I love this state park with such a variety of nature and it's so unique, as someone not from this area this is our second year here to this exact state park, we saw alligators in a swamp (sewer area) and lots of birds singing, we rode 8 miles on our bikes and visited each sign that talked about the wild life, this is a really gorgeous area, with sand dunes to swamp lands, grassy meadows, parks, benches, and fun new things to learn each time, and even a mini store near the Gulf State nature center (if you drive and walk it's 2 dollars to park) otherwise free, it's like a place you can't miss if your are near here, definitely rent bikes and try all the paths, stop at the...

Happened to find it one night about 9pm after not having any for 3 days. ATM at the check in facility was nice. We had RV site up against one of the lakes but bring bug spray because once it gets dark bugs will bite. Couple miles from anything as far as groceries, restaurants but adequate. Read moreWe really enjoyed the campground. We walked several of the trails. The park is very clean and mowed. I didn't like they only have one dumpster area, it's a huge campground so you need to get in the car to throw your trash. I did appreciate the dog stations that were around. We were very disappointed that we couldn't bring our fur babies to the beach or the pier. The website says dogs are allowed on the park beach but that is not so. It's really too bad that some people not picking up or controlling their dogs have ruined it for those of us who bring our dogs...
