I love this state park with such a variety of nature and it's so unique, as someone not from this area this is our second year here to this exact state park, we saw alligators in a swamp (sewer area) and lots of birds singing, we rode 8 miles on our bikes and visited each sign that talked about the wild life, this is a really gorgeous area, with sand dunes to swamp lands, grassy meadows, parks, benches, and fun new things to learn each time, and even a mini store near the Gulf State nature center (if you drive and walk it's 2 dollars to park) otherwise free, it's like a place you can't miss if your are near here, definitely rent bikes and try all the paths, stop at the...

Very nice facilities. Bathrooms kept very clean. Family has been very impressed with the swimming pool. Wi-Fi has not been very good. Happened to find it one night about 9pm after not having any for 3 days. ATM at the check in facility was nice. We had RV site up against one of the lakes but bring bug spray because once it gets dark bugs will bite. Couple miles from anything as far as groceries, restaurants but adequate. To get to the beach is a hike/bike ride so have seen carts, trailer, wagons, etc. Family said that there was not very people there and away from the main...

We really enjoyed the campground. We walked several of the trails. The park is very clean and mowed. I didn't like they only have one dumpster area, it's a huge campground so you need to get in the car to throw your trash. I did appreciate the dog stations that were around. We were very disappointed that we couldn't bring our fur babies to the beach or the pier. The website says dogs are allowed on the park beach but that is not so. It's really too bad that some people not picking up or controlling their dogs have ruined it for those of us who bring our dogs...

This is a beautiful state park in Alabama. Nice big sites we are facing a lake. There are alot of biking trails walking trails. We heard internet is not great but we have our device Verizon works fantastic. A little pricy 316 for a week and if u book a month its like 700 or something like that. Be aware no propane fill ups available here the nearest place is a town called Foley. They have laundry facilities very clean washroom.Very friendly people around. Still haven't done everything here yet will explore more today. Hope this helps.

In our eyes, the best State Park in Alabama. We've been here many times and we are always amazed at how the staff keep up. There are miles and miles of paved bike/hiking trails. The campsites are always clear and ready. The beach is secluded. There is a lot to do in the area, as well as in the park. If you can't find something to do, you aren't trying. It is also fairly peaceful, for those that wish to relax. Note: if you are looking for peaceful, pick the east end of the campground. The photos are of the sunset from the beach.

Bike rentals. 500 sites. Full Hookups. Internet. Dog friendly and a dedicated Dog Park. Saw an Eagles Nest, many different birds, Armadillo.
