Small town motel with friendly staff, fresh looking rooms that needs to work on the details. Check in was great. Sharyl was kind and full of information.
We arrived to our room to find the air conditioning OFF. It's 90 degrees in Texas, our room (208) faced west and you had the AC off? We turned the AC on and though cool by the unit, the rest of room was miserable. We decided to leave and run a few errands expecting the AC to have done it's job. We returned to the same stuffing room. Sharyl jumped to action and turned on the AC's to several rooms and let us pick which one we wanted to move to. Our new room (215) was fine except that it also faced west, had a huge gap under part of the door, and took forever to cool.
The breakfast area is small and the 'hot' option was sausage biscuits and eggs. Despite 10 people waiting to eat breakfast, the breakfast lady brought out 3 sausage biscuits and a few portions of scrambled eggs.
Finally, the room had several dead bugs in it and there were cob webs and wasps all over the outside of the building.
The complementary shampoo and soap are very good.
This not the best Best Western we've stayed in by far but it's what you might expect from a small town motel. They need a few more Sharyls working for them, improve every day check lists and they'll be top notch.
Finally, turn AC on the MORNING your...
Read moreThe hotel is very nice, and the staff was very good. The rooms were beautiful and very clean. The only reason I cannot give this a five-star is because the internet and cell phone service was nonexistent. Since this was a business trip, we needed those amenities and they were not up to par. We couldn't use our cell phones to even call her family's to tell them we had arrived safely. The second reason I cannot give a better rating is because the breakfast was horrible. The coffee, if you can call it that, was more like colored water and it was not hot. The scrambled eggs had absolutely no seasoning, we're cold, and watery when you ate them. The only good thing that I could find to eat was the pastry after I put it in the microwave because it was too hard to eat it just out of the container. I did see that people were utilizing the fruit so unfortunately it wasn't much there and gone before I had a chance to even grab it. I heard that they had cups of what we thought was waffle batter next to the waffle iron and several people had used it to make waffles only to find out that it was gravy for sausage and biscuits that were halfway down the counter. They should have been placed next to the biscuits so that people would not have made that mistake...
Read moreWell that was a mistake! never stay in room 107! firstly my room was nothing like the pics on here. check-in: smelt like curry, super intense odor to the place. room smelt a little strange also. tv remote didn’t work, couldn’t call the front desk as the phone wasn’t working either, so walked across to get a new remote. vending machine wasn’t working so couldn’t get a soda. the show was terrible and the toilet was maybe 12 inches from the floor; lower side of my shin. no sockets to charge phone next yo the bed either… the shower was terrible also.
breakfast: Ive never not eaten any breakfast sausages until this morning. so so so so salty. the eggs were cold, and i think a health hazard. the cereal looked like it was there from a month or two ago also. and there were no people yet but only 2 slices of bread for toast.
It’s a $50 / night kind of establishment, nothing more. it feels like the owners have given...
