We decided to give it one more try. We should have stayed home.

Ordered the Combo B appetizer.. We got 6 mushroom stems not much bigger than a pencil eraser, 9 fried pickles about the size of a nickel, and 4 "crab" stuffed jalapenos that were about half the size you get anywhere else for $11.99

We each ordered a large bowl of seafood gumbo, and received a large bowl that wasn't even half full. When I questioned it, the server said "You got a large bowl"...

This place is indescribable... Rude staff, small portions

Food here is usually really good. The last couple of visits the quality has declined. Tonight the flounder(?) tasted bad. The portions on fried mushrooms has diminished. For $7 you now get 9 small mushrooms, unlike before you got almost a full basket.

The server was kind enough to take the fish back and get me something else, but this experience left a bad taste in my mouth (no pun intended).

I doubt we'll be back now. So sad, as Hallettsville needed something besides Tex-Mex. Unfortunately, this...

First visit here. Won't return. The service was nice and the place clean as a whistle. The food however??? A BIG NO. Ordered the seafood platter every single item came from a frozen package,not fresh,not even cooked properly. The fish and scallops were still cold, not only that but it ALL tasted like old freezer food. The Cole slaw was tasty but so full of juices it ruined it, the so called stuffed crab was stuffed with nothing but bread....no crab meat at all. A BIG disappointment, especially when the owner asked how things were and I told her it wasn't good, and not cooked properly she did nothing except hand us the bill no questions about why it was not good and NO offer to do anything about...

I needed to change the review to reflect the price changes. The menu always had some weird pricing, $5+ for four tiny spring rolls??? LOL. $9 was already pricy for their version of chicken fried rice. Add in the fact that the portion size for the order was never even enough to fill the foam container. Now with tax, it's almost $15 and the portion size is still anemic. I'm a professional chef with years of restaurant experience and I understand food costs but this is just overcharging. Its rice without even a 1/4 of a chicken breast sliced into it. Only veggies are zucchini and Broccoli. What there is worth $15??? Won't be back anytime soon...
