(Update at 4:30 am. Awoken when someones car alarm went off. Woke up our chihuahuas as well. Next we could hear talking outside our room. I had to get up to quiet our pets and was greeted by flashlights shining outside our window. As I look outside there were two policemen looking around the grounds and parked cars. The disturbance outside has my pet pretty curious and in protect mode. So I had to sit up and assure all was ok. End result was an early morning “Doggie P walk”. When I came back in I attempted to lock the door using the deadbolt as well only to find the deadbolt DID NOT WORK. Well nice I thought. ) It is Now 4:45 am and since the outside stroll I’m wide awake🤬
Wife and I decided to start our trip a day early. I usually look into reviews in much more detail but didn’t this time as I was just anxious to hit the road and start our vacation to Maine. I have never stayed at a Super 8 and decided to use my Wyndham Club card to add points. 🤦🏻♂️ The outside grounds appeared to be well kept and upon entering the Front Desk Area I was greeted with a friendly hello and smile. The check in was easy and hassle free. My wife and I have two Chihuahua’s we travel with. They have been in hundreds of hotels/motels in 48 states and Canada, so we are accustomed to pet friendly rooms. The beds were clean and comfortable. The easy chair was another story. If it were mine I would have replaced it. The seat had stains that looked like they had been unsuccessfully cleaned. I almost didn’t want to sit. The room was carpeted and was WELL TRAVELED. the tub and sink had no stopper. So my wife’s attempt to soak her sore feet would have to wait. As I set my travel bag down it bumped the A/C and the whole front panel fell to the floor. The inside was disgustingly dusty. When I put the cover back on the compressor would not come back on. Luckily the outside temperature was cooler then usual. I now am hesitant to stay at another Super 8. I do know that I will not rush through a booking again without reading many of most recent reviews.
I think management should better heed the reviews that are rated less then three star. You should not have to WAIT for upgrades to the entire facility when perhaps a professional cleaner company could assist with stains to furniture and rugs. However, the A/C unit is easy to at least vacuum. Come on...
Read moreBy far the worst unprofessional place I have ever stayed. There were these 2 guys that were always in the parking lot. I didn't have an issue with it until one of them stared at my 12 year old son when he was walking to our room from our car (roughly 100ft) didn't stop looking at my son until he entered the room. I called the front desk to express my concern and spoke with Karen (the manager). When I told her what happened she immediately said "well they have been sitting there for over a year and haven't caused any problems"which was 2 days ago. Nothing was done about the matter because the 2 men have been outside in the parking lot all day every day since. Today May 16th, the housekeeper came to my room and opened my door while I was sleeping. I had the "do not disturb" sign on my door and I was sleeping naked which I thought I could do without being disturbed. I guess I was wrong and I feel completely violated and harassed. I then go to the front desk to complain about this and Karen was on the phone and looked busy. I was respectful and let her continue her conversation and didn't interrupt. I came back to my room and 1 minute later I received a room call and it was Karen. She said I have to leave the hotel by tomorrow morning because I was cursing and allegedly smoking in my room which is a false allegation because I do not even smoke. The cursing was when the lady opened my door and I had a do not disturb sign on my door which was when she saw me laying in bed naked. I told her why I cursed and that I wasn't s.oking in my room and she hangs up on me. I call back to the front desk and Karen again answers and I say "Are you going to hang up on me again?" He response was "yes" and hangs up on me. So here I am sitting here wondering where me and my son will go because we are homeless and utilized 211 of vermont for homeless housing. My room was paid for by the state until May 30th. Which is what economic services said by "Rhonda Maybe". Who also didn't feel my initial concern was an issue when the guy stared at my son. I did ask to be moved to a different hotel and got told I couldn't be moved because other hotels weren't accepting new guests. Which was "The comfort Inn" and the "Hilton" both right down the road in white river junction Vermont. I feel completely violated and harassed by both of these...
Read moreThis place was super sketchy. Fortunately only stayed one night. There was a truck full of a crew of workers in the parking lot sitting around outside in the open drinking a case of beer. As we pulled up to our room there was a guy sitting in a lawn chair with a row of empty bottles lined up on the air conditioner being used as a shelf and the area reeked of Marijuana. The bottles were still there when we checked out the next morning. There are signs on all the doors saying you need to be at least 20 feet from the building to smoke. Those signs must be there because they have had a problem with it, but obviously the people staying there are not paying any attention to the signs. The room reeked of old musty stale smoke even though it was a non-smoking room. It made your skin feel creep crawly. You could see the door to the bathroom had been kicked in at some point. The latch plate was all mangled and the inside trim to the door was broken at the latch location. They must have just put the broken piece of trim back in place. The room seemed to have a humidity problem. Everything felt Damp. There was some sort of science project growing in the corner of the ceiling above the TV. The base plate for the smoke alarm was all covered with rust. There were no towels in the room. I had to go down to the front desk and ask for towels. The woman at the front desk was actually very nice. She got me the towels and apologized because they had been having a shortage of towels. When I went to take a shower in the morning and walked on the white bathmat, I left black footprints, so my feet had gotten black from walking around in the room without socks on. When I went to get some dinner my teenage daughter didn't want to be left alone in the room because she didn't feel safe. We did partake of the breakfast in the morning. It wasn't bad. Just cereal, muffins, yogurt, etc.. It was fine and the dining area and coffee station were fine as well. The women at the desk in the morning was polite and courteous as well.
So, if you want to sit outside and drink in public and get high, this is probably the perfect place for you. If not, you might want to...
