Momma Dean is the host at the Meador Homestead Bed and Breakfast. There are two cabins - one is a log cabin built in the 1800's. Updated of course, but it retains a lot of past.
My son, grandson and myself were going to Hattiesburg for a NCAA college baseball regional tourney. All the hotels were full and the closest room was 36 miles away.
I looked for a bed and breakfast and we lucked into the Meador Homestead Bed and Breakfast. I called and Momma Dean answered the phone. I was in luck and was able to book for the Friday night.
When we arrived in town Friday, Momma Dean met us at the location and showed us around the log cabin. It was straight out of the past, but updated. The one we stayed in was built by her great grandfather. It had a bedroom and across the breezeway was a sitting room. The other room had a kitchen and bath - and a beautiful modern shower. This area also had a loft that had a king size bed. I slept in the log cabin bed - a rope bed. It was very comfortable.
The cabins are on a beautiful property. There is a small lake about 200 yards from the cabin. Also on the property are a dining room and a larger tea room. Mamma Dean also has tea parties and small lunches in these two facilities.
Breakfast was great and we talked with Mamma Dean for awhile and she told us all about how the Bed and Breakfast came into existance.
