I have visited many Cracker Barrel locations throughout the US. This one however, seems to be one of the most coldest restaurants I have ever been in. It makes it absolutely unbearable to enjoy your meal. My last visit I asked if they would please turn the fans off because of the extreme coldness. The server had the manager come to my table to address the issue. I was simply told they cannot turn them off because it keeps the moisture from coming out of the ceramic flooring. I assured her as cold as it was in the restaurant nothing was going to sweat. I have tile in my home and Thermostat is at a set at a tolerable temperature. A temperature can be maintained for everyone’s comfort, and yet prevent the ceramic tiles from sweating. And either have it very cold in there or turn the fans on. Both are not necessary. The statement she made to me was completely untrue. I do understand that The staff are busy and do tend to be a little hotter than the rest of us. But the fact remains the comfortable environment for your patrons should be top priority. I do not enjoy eating any meal required to wear a jacket during the hottest parts of summer at your location. if they feel the temperature must be set to extreme cold, at least turn the fans off. This type of atmosphere is hurting your business. I only make this statement because more than once I have heard other patrons complain about the cold to staff members. As I was checking out yesterday, checking out beside me was complaining they could not eat their food enough to keep it from getting cold. And that they will not be back. If it were not for travelers passing through and stopping, they probably would not remain opened. I can almost bet that the customers are not locals. Because we all know how cold it is in there. I now find myself eating at different restaurants. Even though I really enjoy eating at Cracker Barrel, I do not enjoy being cold while trying to eat my food. do you keep your house temperature very cold, especially during milk time? Would guess to say that no one likes to...
Read moreEDIT: Cracker Barrel responded and again sent a link for me to "give them a chance to fix the problem." Still haven't heard back from the last experience. Not going to waste my time or money with Cracker Barrel anymore. Fool me once,....
This is 2 for 2 Cracker Barrel! In 2 different states, in one month, the same poor quality of food. This time, Hattiesburg, Mississippi. My husband was craving Cracker Barrel so, again I found one on our route. Instead of placing the order online or on the phone I decided to go in and place a order to go as we are traveling with a dog. My goal here was to ensure our food would be hot and not cold as the last time in Florida. I was wrong! This time the wait time was normal. Took the food out to eat in the RV and this time they did have utensils but no syrup for the pancakes, again! Luckily we have a microwave so we could heat up all of our food. But we shouldn't have to do that when you're paying for food you should be getting what you're paying for, hot and fresh, not cold and old. I got the country fried steak breakfast and the meat tasted oldand as stated, it wasn't even warm. I couldn't even finish it. My husband got his usual Old-Timers breakfast. Again, it had to be warmed in our microwave. This happened to us less than a month ago in Florida. Cracker Barrel saw my review complete with pictures and apologized and asked how they could make it right and gave a link for me to click on and fill out. I'm not sure for what because we have yet to hear anything back from them. I am convinced that they put that on bad reviews just to make people think they are taken care of their customers. I can tell you, they aren't! I certainly wasn't expecting to hear anything back and we weren't looking for something free. I put my reviews up for others to see and be aware. Not looking for free stuff. We decided that we will not go back to Cracker Barrel which is sad because it used to be one of our favorite places. They have lessened the quality of their food and how it's...
Read moreExtremely poor service. Took 10 minutes to get a server to our table. 5-10 minutes later brought us soft drinks after ordering. Had to ask for straws, that took another 5+ minutes. Server brought out the fried pickles 5-10 minutes later... we asked for ranch dressing... that took another 5-10 minutes to deliver. Dinner finally arrived after being at the restaurant for more than 50 minutes. Except that there was no salt on the table, no butter for the grits, no knives for the sugar cured ham, no syrup for the waffles, no biscuits, and no apples which were ordered. However, they did deliver eggs and sweet tea that were not ordered. I asked for the manager who showed up after a 10 minute wait time. He immediately blamed the waitress and didn't really apologize on behalf of CB. He just brought new orders of grits that had become cold while we waited for salt and grits. Of course, the other food had also become cold as we waited on missing items. After that, I think the waitress avoided us and never brought us the bill. After an hour and a half of being there, we finally had to leave without even having received a bill. As we were leaving, I left my name and phone number with the wait list person... asking her to have the manager call me if/when they want to be paid. At this point 30 minutes later, still no phone call.
I've been going to CB across the USA for more than 30 years and never had to complain. This location has horrible service and should be avoided until there is a complete change in management/staff. Thank you to CB customer service for their response below, but I already left my name and phone number with the local location. Now three days later, still no response. I don't really have anything else to add other than they didn't provide any napkins either. We had to ask for those as well. Other than cooking our meal, everything else was DIY... do it...
