We chose this hotel because we had an exhausting day of hiking and because of the price knowing that it wouldn’t be the most luxurious hotel around but it was close and convenient. But - there is a limit to my expectations, this hotel did not meet even the most lenient qualities. The room did have clean sheets, and a tv, hot water was good, but the broken floor heating system which was falling off the wall (there was a portable heater plugged in), the smoke detector hanging by wires from the ceiling, the semi-patched hole in the ceiling that looked as it was going to fall through, the shower that had large rust marks on it and scraped off paint, the A/C that looked moldy, you could see outside through the gaps in the front door (it did lock however), all amounted to a pretty terrible room. To top it off, across the street are the train tracks where trains stopped and blew their horn-loudly. from 5:00 p.m. when we arrived to 06:00 when we left, there were 9 trains. Even running the a/c (moldy that it was) and opening the window (which looked onto the loudly rushing river), you couldn’t ignore the train. It also appears to have a few permanent guests, one family have a dog, they sit outside the room watching the trains go by, their area looks to be quite a mess. Outside of our door there is a stockpile of DIY items to upgrade the hotel but most look broken, unused, or mostly trash. In all, it was a cheap hotel, we were able to get some sleep but I would not return to this hotel again. I would spend the extra $20. Down the road at any...

An old motel on the side of the road which has clearly seen many years. The fellow at the front desk was very pleasant and commented that they were in the middle of renovations. Our room had not yet received such. ||||There was a small entry room with a full size refrigerator, sink, and a small stove/oven. A table with two chairs was also in the room. In the back the bedroom had two queen beds. Heat was provided by baseboard hot water. There was a small electric fireplace for added warmth, but it was not needed even in early October. A bathroom with a small jetted tub came off the bedroom. The bedroom had a small AC unit built into the wall and a TV with DISH programming. The train tracks are about 200 feet from the front of the hotel, so get to bed early and you will not need an alarm clock. The room was non-smoking and seemed to have been kept that way.||||Overall it was sufficient and reasonably clean, but certainly a few tiers down from the national chains. The price matched the accomodations, and was better than camping! ||||I would stay there again while attending a sporting event with just the kids in tow. The wife would probably only take it if it were the last option in town and the next option was more than a 30 minute drive away. Since this is a rural location, 30 minutes doesn't produce many options when everything in...

Hilton it is not. This place is a work in progress. As others said, dont let appearances deceive You. The owner, Angel, is friendly and very helpful. Place is being remodelled 1 room at a time, some rooms may look outdated but bed(s), very comfortable, clean, good linen & blankets and You will sleep good. Hot water/shower/towels & basic soap all exceeded expectations. Kitchen nook has microwave/coffeemaker and mini fridge, all clean and good working order. Great location in Helper, close to the historic downtown, 24 hour convenience just past the US 6 bridge, and right off the main highway. Angel has a family run authentic Mex food stand right in the parking lot if You're hungry. Menu is low cost, delicious, and quite popular with locals. Wi-Fi is decent, although there was an occasional and momentary power/internet disruption during my stay. Angel said those were due to the city provided services. The rooms are surprisingly quiet inside, the only thing which may break that peace being the random train activity from the main line 100 feet away. (No problem for me though -train buff and stuff like this fits my bill perfectly!) Room prices are definitely affordable in today's standards, overall, I would readily reccommend this place...
