We stayed here with my dog for 4 days and greatly enjoyed our stay! This is a very dog friendly hotel with many other dogs staying there. There is a flat rate fee of $25 per pet per stay which is extremely reasonable. There’s plenty of space to walk your dog and a waste station by the parking lot.
One of our favorite things was having coffee and hot water available 24/7 as we enjoy having hot soups and tea all day, the staff were always happy to refill anything we needed. The best part about this hotel is that it’s extremely quiet, at least during the week. It did fill up quite a bit on Friday night but was still pretty quiet.
The hotel was immaculately clean, which we greatly appreciated. The room smelled a bit musty at times, but nothing horrible. There are certain pet designated rooms so it’s understandable.
For breakfast, it’s a standard American continental breakfast. There are lots of bread options including toast, bagels, English muffins, and raisin bread. They have waffle irons there to make fresh waffles along with many options for toppings including syrup, sugar free syrup, jams, peanut butter, cream cheese, and Nutella. They also had hard boiled eggs and yogurt in the fridge. There are bananas, cereals in single serve containers, oatmeal and grits in packets plus orange and apple juices and, of course, fresh coffee plus a multitude of Bigelow teas. I only wish they had a recycling bin for the plastic waste.
The hotel is very conveniently located right off I-40. We ate a lot of our meals from restaurants around Flat Rock and downtown Hendersonville, it never took more than 10 min to get to many food places. Highly recommend the Thai express just down the street and the tavern in downtown Hendersonville (awesome fish and chips!).
All in all, we enjoyed our stay and would...
Read moreI am a Marine Veteran and this was the worst experiance I have ever had at a hotel. I was refused service on my fiance' birthday night and the staff had many insulting questions like " why dont you just go home?" , " what are you gonna just be here a few hours?" " are you going to be having alot of people in and out?" " we dont rent by the hour". " "whats wrong with your house just go home."" we have cameras everywhere so you know " they further asked what our ages- were more specifically what my fiances age was, I answered that I am 26 and she is 33 "they responded with thats weird, you two should just go home!". After all that... I said does it help that im a veteran? And unanimously they responded "no why would it". Repeatedly I said I Dont Understand and they would just respond with the same insulting questions. They did not offer any other suggestions of where another hotel may be more accommodating. After calling other hotels we were explained that if you live local you cant rent a room due to high crime issues and must reside 50 miles away. Its more than unfortunate that the mountain inn did not explain this, and instead chose to be accusatory and insulting. They had no signs posted anywhere that tells you that you have to live 50 miles aways to rent a room here. We just moved to the hendersonville area and are not familiar with all the local rules or regulations...
Read moreIf I could rate 0 stars I would. I truly feel that my experience was racially motivated. I booked through Expedia and apparently the photos are out dated. We drove 2 hours and when we arrived no one were wearing masks, the site looked very old. When I checked into my room there was a very strong odor, the bed appeared to be cleaned, but the tub had brown stains and just looked dirty. So we decided we didn't want to stay, I informed the man at the front desk who then caught a attitude and said there was nothing he could do since I booked it through a 3rd party. I returned the key and called Expedia who then contacted the front desk. This man lied through his teeth and said we were there for over 2 hours when we literally walked in and out. After driving another 2 hours back home we had to wait until the morning to speak with the manager, who also lied. Claimed that the camera footage and computer shows us checking in at 4 when we didn't leave home until after 4. I guess they really didn't want to refund my money and they gave me a hard time because I am a black woman. This was my first and last time visiting flat rock. The atmosphere wasn't welcoming at all and the customer service was unbelievably terrible. I've never felt so uncomfortable and I am stunned at how the management and employees lied. I wouldn't recommend this...
