Waffle House — Restaurant in North Carolina

Same thing I order all the time... cheesesteak bowl had BURNT hashbrowns and the female cook was ticked off that I asked for crispy... a visit should have taken all of 30 minutes because there were only 3 or 4 other tables, and they already had their food, took us almost 2.5 hours and no not by choice... I had 3 kids with me 12 and under, so believe me we were ready to go! LOL, I hate leaving bad reviews but I have been going to this one for many years and it's just been on the decline, I'm always nearby when I'm working (* I go to a few different ones and this one has been getting worse and worse... If you're learning your job, i can deal but on the other hand, getting mad because he took a smoke break before we ordered, then another while we ate, and one after... Don't get mad when I ask you to wash your hands before handling our food and drinks though after you make me wait 15 minutes a!) Also, the cook was running her mouth negatively about me and the kids, and I promise you the kids were on great, actually excellent behavior especially considering how long we had to be there on a school night! They acted like if they didn't come over I was going to get up and leave... it was after 900, no reason to be that way.. if you'll check my other review from another, where I ate up in Arden tonight I wish they were all like that... Food and service sucked and I hate putting that..... I'll try one more time, but if it's improved or not, I'll update if so... I appreciate they have a job and working and I EVEN left a hefty% tip, not because it was great but because he was there working, so I never skimp on the tip because on that but please work a little harder, service the folks dining in and then take your smoke breaks and gossip with the cook when we're gone! 😉 😆

Ps not sure If it's the same owner as the one on Long Shoals but if so, have those folks train these (*if they're trained then they need a lesson on customer service and cooking food correctly). Lol, see my...

Shortly after placing our order (which was ready to be taken the moment we were), we heard some folks complimenting the manager as they were leaving and claimed “It is the BEST Waffle House EVER”

And they are absolutely correct, it really is the BEST we’ve been too! They’re an enigma, and that’s not to say all Waffle Houses are what we think when we think of them, but this one, dude.

CLEAN, like actually clean. Not wiping syrup with a syrup filled rag clean, but like clean towel clean! Our shoes didn’t stick to the floor! And It smelled yummy inside.

Staff seemed close, like the kind of friends you can call family. They’re wasn’t any fussing over each other or customers who just left. Everyone was having a great workday together, like a well oiled machine, the team worked well together and their positive energy definitely spilled out into the dining room. And customers weren’t forgotten about, our orders were correct, and to whoever cooked my eggs earlier this afternoon - I applaud you, I asked for medium fried and I got PERFECTLY jammy and delicious eggs, but you’ve now set the bar too high!

The entire establishment has set the bar so high now, that I’ll have to drive the 7 hours back to this one instead of the one 20 minutes from me because I’m convinced I’m only going to find disappointment...

Waffle House used to be a favorite of mine, I've eaten there for over 40 years. They always had good food at fair prices before. So when a craving hit I headed over and placed a to go order. The place was empty except for one other lady also placing a to go order also. I expected it to be maybe $12 with tip. Boy was I shocked when she rang me up! $17 & change for a couple tablespoons of scrambled eggs with cheese, double hash browns with one slice of cheese between them, they were good but only looked like maybe 1.5 orders, thick cut bacon that was more like salty fried shoe leather! I gave it to my dog it was so nasty! 🤢 They USED to have thin cut bacon that was perfectly crispy and melted in your mouth, now it's thick cut and disgusting. (That's how they justify the price hike I guess!) I don't think the grill had been cleaned, I could taste that salty, briny dirty grill flavor. I gave the waitress a $3 tip for her prompt service. So $20 & change total for about $5 with if food. NEVER AGAIN will I eat there! I don't know how they are still open! Just getting to the place is difficult, you have to cut through two other businesses parking lots if you are coming from the opposite direction and not on their side of the road!
