This is my first time at this hotel but not at a Mariott property. I must say that I was pleased with the reviews so I booked in advance. When I arrived (well past my arrival flight time as I was delayed) there were no issues checking in. It was like 9/10 at night on Dec 23rd. I can't remember the night staff member's name, but he was funny and friendly after such a long day. I had sent 2 packages ahead of me and they were right there for collection once I was checked in.
As I looked around at the outside, the check-in area and my room upon entry, I was very pleased! Property is well kept and aesthetically beautiful! There were no dents, dings, peeling paint or any worn down furniture. I was relieved since I'm a stickler for a nice environment while on vacation. And this hotel didnt disappoint. I do believe The hallway carpet that led to my room on The 2nd floor needs to be cleaned though. The area is VERY quiet as this property is shared with a Residence Inn and it's away from the main road and not many businesses around. Heck the roads were always clear to leave the property. I would suggest having a vechile when visiting this hotel though some places aren't too far away by car; not in walking distance.
First night, I had issues with getting on the Wi-Fi and called front desk and the attendant actually came up to my room at 1 am to help me get on with my mobile device. Good service! Housekeeping did a good job cleaning; I stayed in room 210 and I was pleased with the cleanliness. Also, I did try out breakfast one morning. Pricing not bad but wished it was included in the stay. The eggs, potatoes and bacon were to my liking and thay banana bread french toast was everything (size of bread should have been bigger). I did order a hot cocoa and it was terrible, the attendant who was very polite did try to fix it but the mix was probably the issue, not a good one. Overall, that dining experience was really enjoyable with fast service!
I loved the way front desk would greet me as I came and went. Many of them would say "hello my love". I would most definitely stay here again. It has been my best stay at a hotel in FL for the year and it's my 3rd time staying in the area...heck, the last few...
Read moreThe whole experience has been a complete mess! Long story short: I was granted an upgrade by the app, via chat for being a Platinum member. When I arrive at the hotel, the front desk agent told me he didn't know anything about it and sarcastically, told me that the person who did that on the chat made a mistake. When I mentioned I was a Platinum Member ( He should know, even though I was never greeted or thanked for being a Marriot Member)he told me that the only thing he could do was to give me breakfast for one day and that's it! I felt so embarrassed like I was begging for something I am entitled to! I asked for the manager and he told me he was in charge and I got the Manager's business card at the desk ( Charlie Ortigosa). I sent him an email right away ( Friday evening) and I still haven't heard from him( 6 days now). The next day I asked to buy some water and I was told by another front desk lady ( she was nice) that they run out of water... Seriously? The Hotel has no water even to purchase??? I had to drive to the nearest market and get some. After 2 days without having my room cleaned I used the chat to ask for Housekeeping. And then I was informed that I would only have it the next day, without ANY EXPLANATION... I found out by the housekeepers that were walking in the aisle that the property is only cleaning the rooms every 3 days... I understand but I should at least be advised... I had food in my room for 2 days and the smell was not pleasant at all. I had to dispose of it myself and reuse towels that were dropped on the floor wet... I have been a Marriott member for so many years and I never had this kind of treatment not even in a Days Inn... I really hope something is done to correct that because the Hotel is nice and in good conditions. The only thing that it may need is some personal training. I will really think twice before booking any...
Read moreI was put in the wheelchair accessible room for some reason (I am not a wheelchair user) so I thought I would leave details for anyone who is. The room seems to be better than other “wheelchair accessible” rooms I’ve seen/heard about— the beds are probably still too high but they are a bit lower than usual hotel beds, probably around 25 in. The beds are pretty soft, so it might be hard to transfer. The room’s door is outfitted to be a power door but doesn’t seem to work; they may need to activate it, so call ahead. The room itself has a good amount of space to move in, with a good 3 feet around beds/shelves/etc. The bathroom is very large with many handlebars and a wall mounted phone for emergencies. Bathtub rim is only a foot tall or so, and the seat is very sturdy (I sat in it, as I actually can’t stand in showers for a long time), but you definitely can’t reach the faucet from the seat. There is a separate flexible shower head that reaches the seat, though, and you might be able to turn it on from outside the tub, and let the sprayer sit in the tub while you transfer to the shower seat. Like other parts of this bathroom, not great but possibly capable of a workaround. Sink is about 3 feet off the ground. The toilet is tucked into an odd little 4’ inlet next to the sink (see pics). On the back of the bathroom door there’s a full length mirror that would allow you to see yourself fully both close and backed up a good distance. My iPhone measure tool says the door is 34” wide, and it is not a power door to the bathroom. The hotel itself has a ramped entrance, flat parking lot (though not many sidewalks) and a working (though slow) elevator. While again I am not a wheelchair user myself and may have missed things, I think this hotel’s accessible room would be an okay choice for an ambulatory wheelchair user or anyone traveling with a...
