I wanted to enjoy this place. We are loyalists. I hope that these comments are taken sincerely by the organization as constructive. However it looks like quite a lot here is not ready yet and disagree with them charging their full price. Their "Grand Opening" in late November 2024 should have been considered a "Soft Opening" . It's a construction site. I understand the economic drive to have guests stay for revenue generation, but defining features are incomplete. Here's why:

"Ski In. Ski out'? Not quite yet. Its been a dry season with Utah. However Deer Valley is famous for it's snowmaking and they have accommodated with their core properties like St. Regis, Montage, and Lodge, despite unfavorable weather. For Hyatt, the trail was bone-dry. Hyatt is a part of the new "East Village" expansion. It looks like a small sliver of the new expansion was advertised as "ahead of schedule" to accommodate earlier opening of Hyatt, but Snow Making on this side has not caught up yet. Per Deer Valley Ski Resort, they have not yet built an additional water pump station on this side of the mountain. That means, for the early part of the season they were splitting snow making capacity with the original and new sections. They could not make enough snow during the dry spell. They will be the last to have "ski in," and the first the lose it come 2025 Spring. Their "ticket office" will be a temporary trailer, and the segment between the ski lift and hotel is literally a construction site. By next year, when the expansion is actually ready, they will have improved access....but maybe Hyatt should have also timed their "Grand" opening to the 25/26 season.

But piecing the story together, it looks like: Deer Valley is building their expansion with a 25/26 start date. Hyatt opened a year early, so a small sliver of the expansion was also pressured to opened early, yet infrastructure was not ready. They gambled on weather... and lost.

Labor. It seems a lot of shortcomings are labor related, and Staffing has not caught up. Requests for extra items (i.e. robes, slippers, dental kit) took 2+ hours. Towels racks by the pool and soap dispensers were empty. Phone wait times for the operator/front desk are rather long. Response times on the Chats were several minutes delayed. Driveway was congested and didn't seem to have enough valets. Concierge is not in lobby, unresponsive and with limited hours. The Hyatt Globalist Lounge was understaffed (1-2 workers per meal, with challenges keeping food stocked). And selection at the Globalist Lounge was limited, with more seen at Hyatt Regency lounges than the "Grand Hyatt" brand here.

Remington Hall: Another sign of labor shortage. We made dinner reservations only to find out "they were full". They accommodated with 4:45 reservations. As we dined to 6:30/7, we observed most tables remained unfilled, with a slow trickling of parties inward. This implies the staff as the limiting factor to the restaurant, not seating space.

Very limited retail and hours on those retail spaces. Therea a Ski Shop that closed at 5:30, market at 6, Cafe at 6. This is unfortunate, considering skiers are returning at 4:30 or 5, so they are losing their prime shopping hours.

Tech functions. The app experience was unbefitting if the brand, with no way to "request something" through the phone or "Chromecast" though the app. The workaround for Chromecast was quite buggy. I have attached a screenshot.

Architectural: here's an interesting design flaw: the hotel has a "North" and "South" wing. Ski butler and Lockers are at B1 of the "South" wing. But... On B1, "North Wing" doesn't connect to "South Wing", except by an off limits Service Corridor. No big deal...you gotta go from North Wing, to Lobby, to South Wing right? Remember, Ski boots are not allowed in Lobby, so NorthWingers have to carry and use Lockers, and South wingers have a differential Experience.

There seems to be a lot of "empty spaces", places looking for a future function but for...

July 4-6, 2025 update. Ok, this place offers a military discount so if you are a vet or active duty, but sure you let them know as it's like 30% i think which is massive. Unfortunately, if you book through the Hyatt App, it does not tell you that the hotel does not say anything either. I was here a month ago and nobody said a thing and I didn't ask as I've never been to a Hyatt with a military discount but the server on our first night asked us. Hyatt needs to do a better job of advertising this (unless they really don't want you to take it). Headed back to Oregon from the east coast and brought my lady with me this time to check this place out. This time, we took the shuttle into Park City and I'm glad we did. Great city that is super packed with people and my lady brought a new fur coat. When we were there, the shuttle leaves the hotel about half past the hour and leave Park City on the hour. Lots of places to eat and drink in Park City and I'm leaving the location as four stars as to do anything, you need a car or catch the shuttle. We got there on July 4 and enjoyed the buffet for dinner and I had the Wagyu hot dog...my only complaint about the food is some of it looked like it had been there a while and the pork (although good), was kinda dry. Carter happened to work be working the front desk again and it was good to see him and he left some snacks in the room. This time, I did a Suite upgrade in advance and it did not disappoint. We had an amazing room with a lake view and small balcony and it made us want to stay longer. We ate, drank, hung at the pool (drank more) and took the shuttle in the two days we stayed. I was also glad the see the hotel has more guests this time and the crowd was more diverse I also liked the fact that the hotel has staffing from Spain and Ukraine and hoping Cheeto does not cancel the plans for that as these young folks can come to experience the US during the summer. Great trip and my lady is already talking about going back...I told her she would like it.

June 3, 2025. On a cross country road trip so stayed here for two days and didn't leave the property. The check-in process was great and fast and the room had a view of the body of water across the highway and was above the pool. Here is my review: Bad- There is nothing else around the hotel so no stores to walk to or anything and they are building another hotel between this one and the ski slopes. There is no CNBC on the TV which is hit or miss at higher end Hyatt properties...so you can watch dumb ass Steven A on ESPN but I can't watch CNBC? If you are old like me, it may be difficult to see the buttons in the elevator since it's dark and the buttons are black so I pressed the wrong floor several times but luckily the security only let's you pick your floor. Last thing, if you are looking at prices, but sure to include the cost of parking and daily resort fees which could add another 100 bucks to your daily stay so penny pinchers beware. I'm a Globalist, so there is no daily resort fee. No cash, so if you have large bills and want to tip the valet and the cleaning staff or you just like to tip in cash, bring smaller bills as they don't have any change for you. Great- Awesome staff from the valet, to servers to bar tenders to everyone you encounter. I was told this hotel just opened up in November and I'll probably not come back during ski season but it's a def a nice chill spot to land for a few days and I'm hoping to come back as I make my way back to the west coast later this month. The hotel has so many seating areas inside, outside and by the pool. The workout area is excellent and on par with small gyms. The hotel also has a daily shuttle that you call on demand and takes you to Park City...I didn't use it since my lady couldn't make the trip but maybe on the way back since she will join me later. Speakeasy in the basement is 21 and over only and had very good live music on the Saturday that I was there so good...

A Perfect Family Weekend Getaway at the Grand Hyatt Deer Valley

We recently stayed at the Grand Hyatt Deer Valley for a fun family weekend getaway, and it was absolutely incredible! The hotel is brand new—only a few weeks old—and it’s already setting the bar high. From stunning interiors to thoughtful amenities, it’s clear this property is going to become a favorite in Deer Valley.

Amenities & Facilities The hotel is gorgeous, with an expansive gym offering top-notch equipment and breathtaking views of the Jordanelle Reservoir. Starting the day with the sunrise on the treadmill was truly energizing. After skiing or exploring the snow, the heated outdoor pool and hot tubs are perfect for unwinding. While the kids' camp wasn’t open yet, it looks adorable—we can’t wait to have our 15-month-old experience it next time!

Dining & Drinks Dining here was a delight! Double Black Café on the ground level serves excellent coffee and lattes with customizable latte art—you can even print your own photos on your coffee, which is such a fun touch. Their almond croissant was one of the best we’ve ever had. The onsite restaurant, Remington Hall, was equally impressive. We loved the lounge for a casual lunch and cocktails. The Wagyu pigs in a blanket quickly became a favorite snack, paired with their well-curated cocktail menu. Special shoutout to Daniel, the bartender, whose recommendations for family-friendly activities in Park City were spot-on. Plus, his bourbon Negroni and hot toddy were exceptional!

Accommodations We stayed in the Deer Valley Suite, and it was a dream. The suite is enormous, featuring a spacious living room with a wet bar, microwave, and wine fridge—perfect for families. The 2.5 walk-in closets provided more than enough storage, and the luxurious bathroom with both a shower and tub was great for our baby. It was a wonderful place to relax after a day of adventure.

Service The staff truly made our stay memorable. While it’s clear that some team members are still in training, their friendliness and willingness to go above and beyond shone through. Everyone was so sweet and accommodating with our daughter, making our family feel right at home. Special thanks to Bill, the hotel manager, who was a delight to run into—his kindness and attention to detail ensured we had an amazing experience.

Location & Atmosphere The Grand Hyatt Deer Valley is the first of about seven new hotels being built on Deer Valley East. While the hotel is surrounded by some light construction, it’s so well-designed and enjoyable that you barely notice it, and there’s no noise to disrupt your stay. In fact, being among the first to experience this incredible new property adds to the charm—if you love being a trailblazer and trying brand-new hotels, this is the place for you!

Highlights One of the most unique experiences at the Grand Hyatt Deer Valley is their “High Chocolate.” This fun twist on high tea is a must-try! From around 2:30 to 4:30 (double-check the timing), they serve a thick, decadent homemade hot chocolate poured over a cotton candy-like marshmallow cloud. It’s accompanied by a tower of indulgent sweets, each one more delicious than the last. It’s such a creative and enjoyable way to spend an afternoon.

Final Thoughts Our weekend at the Grand Hyatt Deer Valley was unforgettable. Between the stunning accommodations, top-tier amenities, and warm, welcoming service, it’s the perfect destination for families or anyone looking to enjoy the beauty of Park City. We’re already looking forward to our next visit.

We’d highly recommend a stay here, especially if you love being the first to try a new hotel and embrace being a trailblazer. This hotel is a gem in the...
