Budget Inn — Hotel in Hillcrest Heights

Wellllll. Tbh I kind of have mixed feelings about this motel but overall my experience was pretty good. I have read everyone else’s reviews about how this motel establishment has a roach problem . I would like to say that’s false. I believe it’s all about how you carry yourself and if you clean up your food properly. Anywho the pricing of the room I stayed in was about $123. Now that’s not bad but I feel that they could have knocked the price down a bit. I’m saying that because the room I stayed in did have a bit of a 1990’s kind of vibe. There was no breakfast hall, however they did have the vending machines outside of the rooms as well as ice machines. I think a fair price for the room I stayed in should have been $80 max. My room did have a refrigerator and a microwave inside so maybe that’s why they charging that much lol. Now! Let’s talk about the safety and the location of the motel. I’m not even gonna lie . This place is a bit sketchy . I would definitely advise anyone staying alone to watch their back at all times and to just be aware of their surroundings. A lot of the crazies come out at night and they walk the halls knocking on doors at times BUT when I was checking in for my room I noticed they do have camera’s at the front desk and they watch EVERYTHING. They also have security. When I noticed security was always on duty there, that did make me feel a bit safer.

I recommend not booking a room through third party websites as the listing will not be accurate . I had to call the front desk clerk to get current availability listings of the rooms. May I add , the front desk personnel are...

The staff was nice and the bed was comfy, it was also super close to the metro line so it was super convenient, but this place was super sketchy.

The first night I arrived around midnight, there was a key card scanner to get into the building but it was broken so the door was always unlocked. Once inside, I was immediately met at the door by someone asking me for money, she followed us up to our room while yelling at us, and was making noise until super late that night.

My room had everything unplugged and a light that wouldn't turn off I had to unscrew the lightbulb. The bathroom door had the latch ripped out so the door could just be opened. Also not too many outlets around the room in general. The second night I returned a bit after midnight, and someone was sleeping in the hallway a couple of doors down from mine.

This establishment will be closed before the end of the year for sure. Their attitude and quality of service are atrocious. I booked a late night reservation and was told that they had no inventory. I was unable to make contact with the third party site that booked the reservation about cancelling the reservation. So being that my reservation was not honored at the time that I was prepared to check in the hole in the ground decided to charge me a no show fee the following check in cycle and called my reservation a no show. So this time I’m out of $120 for them and their shady tactic. Buyer BEWARE when dealing with this company. It would be petty to start racially profiling the owner or administration of the property but considering that majority of your customers will be from the community that you decided to place this establishment, treating them with respect and kindness would be a great...
