The name Holy Cow has a very high standard around the DMV! The first one in the area is in Alexandria VA, and let me tell you, that one is AMAZING! When I heard Holy Cow was opening here in Temple Hills, MD. I almost lost it! Id drive by almost everyday, almost having an accident coming around the back-side of the Nalor Rd. Metro looking to see the "Now Open" sign on the glass door, and one day last week, it actually happened! I made a date with myself to goto Holy Cow in Temple Hills, MD! I ordered a chili cheese hotdog and a regular burger, to go! The inside of the actual shop is pretty nice, decorated with graffiti and pretty clean! The outside is ROUGH... You literally have to walk around the tents and mattresses outside and exchange greetings with the dumpster gaurd! Not Holy Cow's issue, but I digress...The food came out quick; approximately $20 for a burger and a chili cheese dog (chili and cheese on the side)! I noticed the bag was a little light when it was handed to me but, no worries, I wanted to savor my first time experience at the Temple Hills location. I also noticed the menu at the Temple Hills location is NOTHING like at the Alexandria location, more on that in a minute... I got home and noticed my hot dog only had cheese on the side and no chili at all! A minor setback because Holy Cow is now in Temple Hills, MD! I opened the dog from the smallish wrap. and took a bite. Its just a plane-tasting hot dog with cheese wiz. Not what Im ise to at ALL! It wasn't bad, it just wasn't a Holy Cow level dog! I finished it and moved on to the burger... Its very soggy and tastes NOTHING like a Holy Cow burger. It had a slightly fishy taste and was soggy wet and not in a good way! The flavor is very different from the real Holy Cow. Again, not bad, but not what I expected! Not worth $20 AT ALL and definitely not Holy Cow... There are other burger spots in the area that taste better. Between this and Burger King... Ima give the Whopper a slight edge over Holy Cow TH!
In closing, I am pretty sure the Temple Hills, Holy Cow is not the same as the Holy Cow in Alexandria VA! You only have to compare the menus and take a bite to be disappointed... If you want the REAL Holy Cow burger and dog experience, please go over the bridge to Alexandria VA! As much as I wanted to recommend this one, I honestly CANNOT. I do not believe I'll be back... I will however go over the bridge to the REAL, Holy Cow! I gave it...

Since we saw the mural on the outside wall, we have been eagerly waiting. Today after a nail appointment I finally got a chance to stop by. We placed an order online for pickup.
We tried the Grilled chicken club, Double smashed onion burger with bacon and avocado added, cheese fries, and onion rings.
Sadly, we were told they were out of bacon, but they advised extra fries were added and we could choose a drink. Sangria it was!
Loved the murals inside. And the sandwiches were fresh and delicious. Fries great and onion rings (real deal not that minced kind) were hot, thick, and crispy. And the bun....nice, buttery, and toasted tops! Really really good!
So many delicious options to choose from on the menu it's going to be hard...
Read moreWent to Holy Cow in Astoria the other day, and honestly, it hit the spot. The place is small but clean, and the guy at the counter was super chill. I got the Holy Burger — juicy, flavorful, and that Holy Sauce really ties everything together. Bun was fresh, veggies crisp, and the patty had that nice smash-style char on the outside. Fries were hot and not oily, which I appreciate. Prices are fair for the quality, and I like that everything’s halal. Definitely coming back to try their chicken tenders and maybe the NYC...
