Yellow Bun & Chocolate Kitchen — Restaurant in Hillcrest Heights

Soon as you walk in the door you are greeted like family!!! Felt like seeing the cousins you haven't seen in yearsssss and they asked you what you want on your plate!

We had already checked out the menu and saw videos on the deliciousness so we had an idea of what we may have wanted to try but then decided to just try as many as we could.

It's in the shopping plaza with the Sam's Car washes so plentiful parking.

We tried: Maryland grilled crab cake sandwich with shrimp added - so good! All crab meat, great sized shrimp. Delicious!

Carolina Pulled Pork sandwich- jam packed with pulled pork, have your fork handy. Delicious and wet as it should be! Coleslaw crisp and delicious and the pickled red onions- those alone sold us on trying this.

Lamb sandwich- Wow wow wow!!!! Its not on the main menu but ask about it. It was the perfect combination of flavors- goat cheese, pickled onion, I know I tasted mint. It was moist, it was good, I'm a little mad I shared half my sandwich 🤣🤣

Chef salad with chicken and shrimp added. SO GOOD! There's a variety of dressings and the homemade green goddess dressing was perfect!

Baked potato wedges- they looked delicious and are flavorful! We wish it had a little more seasoning. We will ask for a little extra next time.

Strawberry Lemonade- Delicious and could really taste both the strawberry and lemonade!

Georgia sweet peach tea- oh my. Anytime I see a sweet tea. Especially a southern one I must try it. And this was beyond what I expected. The tea was delicious and so was every sip of peach. Real peaches. Plentiful in peaches. Thank you!

Mississippi Mud pie- the layers! Try one!

Fresh fruit- fresh and good. Don't feel like cutting your own come buy one!

As soon as I heard about this spot I pulled up!! A homie of mine messaged me saying he just left this nice new spot on Branch avenue, & I should check it out. I looked them up, I pulled up!! LET’S GO!! . Where I am: @yellowbunkitchen . Location Reviewed: 3421 Branch Avenue Temple Hills M.D. . Items Reviewed: LIKE THAT!! Their Customizable Steak n Cheese ($12 with seasoned ribeye, grilled onions, American, & provolone cheeses, green, & red peppers). This caught me off guard!! Cheesy, a high quality protein, & flavorful!!

STAMP!! Their Crab Cake Sandwich ($16 market price, with shrimp $9 extra, total $25 with lettuce, tomato, & house made remoulade). A tasty cake!! With super juicy shrimp on top!!

STAMP!! Their Pulled Pork Sandwich ($9 with an 8 hour marinated pork, house made slaw, pickled onions, & their house made Carolina bbq sauce). We need a really good pulled pork sandwich in this area…this is it!!

STAMP!! Their Hand Cut Potato Wedges ($3 hand cut, seasoned with jalapeno crema, vegan avocado mayonnaise, & their remoulade). Thick, crispy, & well seasoned dip these in that crema!!

STAMP!! Their Mississippi Mud Pie ($6 with a graham cracker base, whipped cream, a fudge brownie, & chocolate mousse on top). I could eat a bucket of this!! Get it!!

I came here a couple weeks ago. It was a Tuesday after they had some social media traction so the place was packed.. I called ahead and the young lady who answered the call and took my order was great. She let me know that there would be a delay. I appreciated that, alot of business would take the order and say nothing for the sake of making a buck.

When I arrived I was given a warm welcome. In fact, Everyone received that welcome. Customer Sevice was phenomenal. Like stated, it was crowed, and there was a wait, so they offered everyone a free drink or snack as a peace offering. That was nice. I grabbed a strawberry cheesecake from the fridge and paid for my order. I made the mistake of tasting it while I waited. Delicious, it took so much will not to eat it all right then lol. Food was good! I can't wait to try other items again and be able to have it hot (I had to immediately drive a ways so my sandwiches were cold by the time I got to it) but it was still awesome.
