The smoke detector is missing. The AC works but it is not hot out. I think this is the most laid back place. Inn keeper where are you during the night? They change towels once a week according to something on the wall in the bathroom. The second complaint I have is the sheets are worn out. They appear to of been stained by blood and to of been bleached. Rug is nasty. Just plain floors with a bath mat would be an easy improvement. The breakfast was pretty much nearly rotten fruit, hard boiled eggs not sure how old they are or were. The muffins were not what I would say to impressive. This place is quaint. Parking is not really the best. We paid but at times no spots were available. They are great people. I though will say the busted lock that works but is brokenhearted does not encourage me on the bathroom window. Would I stay here? Absolutely. I just would bring my own sheets and pillows. I would not count on the breakfast. I would not expect any staff during the night. No paper towels or tissues. No paper or plastic cups. Glad dishes though.... No dish soap. No towel to clean up. Nice little refrigerator. Quirkiest place I have ever stayed. Bathroom has soap dispenser mounted in shower on wall. Plenty of tp. I get maintaining and keeping costs down. However we paid enough that breakfast served at nine for those of us that are travelers should be available at seven. It is in the fine print so that is my bad. As I said I ding them on no smoke detector in my room. No live person answering questions or there to help in the night. Love they are laid back and easy going but want to feel safe where I sleep. I don't want icky thread bare worn out sheets. I don't want what appeared to be sheets that once we're blood stained and sanitized bleached to death. I want simple but reasonable. Perhaps these things have not been mentioned to the staff or owner. I wish you well. Great location. Beautiful and quick walk to board walk. Interesting Court yard. Just quirky and again I will say.... No smoke detector. :((((. This is a dated facility and for that I say avoid if handicapped. Happy travels. We stayed on March...
Read moreThe owners have no policy when it comes to a couple fighting and slapping each other FOR HOURS in the garden community area. That went on for hours sitting the day and they were staying above us in a room and continued to fight then, making lots of noise like they were fighting and moving furniture at the same time. I thought someone should have called the police at one point when the man slapped the woman and they were screaming at the top of their lungs at one another. Apparently it didn't bother the owners or front desk. The fighting couple saw us, our car, and where we stayed or I would have called and complained but didn't out of fear of what they would do to us.
I closely inspected for bed bugs because the room was so gross looking (none found but I'd advise checking your room out before bringing luggage in). The unit is not maintained well and very out dated. The a/c was drowning in water and gurgled every time it came on, waking me up all night. There was mold in the room that made my husband horribly sick for the rest of our trip. If you want to battle the grossness, the beach is a short walk out and that was the only good thing about this place I could speak for. BE WARNED. THIS IS NOT A...
Read moreWe stayed at the Ocean Inn in Hollywood for one night on our way to the cruise port. We wanted a hotel close to the Hollywood Broadwalk. The hotel was rated very well and it was fairly inexpensive so we gave it a try.|||I don't recommend staying here. The hotel is definitely showing signs of neglect. The sheets had cigarette burn holes in them, the towels were stained, the lampshade was held together by tape. The trash hadn't been changed from the previous guests and there were used condoms in it. The bed was so soft, but not in a good way. We rolled into the center and had a really hard time getting out of bed! Parking was an additional fee (that was not noted on Expedia which is where we booked through). There was also unknown "stuff" dripping down one of the walls... Ick |||The only positives were that it was very close to the Broadwalk and was in a safe area. The shower had fabulous water pressure and temperature. There was also a nice outside sitting area for guests. They also provided plates, cups, a wine key for opening wine bottles, mini fridge, and microwave which I thought were nice touches. |||Overall, I don't recommend staying here. I'm not sure why it was...
