Walkabout Beach Resort — Restaurant in Hollywood

Stayed here for 2 nights, wish it was longer, this place was fantastic!

First person we met was Lisa at the Tiki bar. She was awesome and gave us a perfect run-down of the property, room, and available amenities. Veronica was also really great to work with when we checked in.

For us, this place has a great location on the boardwalk (err.... broadwalk?). A quieter spot and only a short walk to some more happening parts of the beach area. Multiple restaurants with short walking distance, and a lot of the places had a lot of different seating arrangements to handle the sudden wind gusts and rainstorms which seemed to be frequent and random.

The room was very clean and well furnished. Fridge was pretty new, A/C units were great with handheld remotes for control, microwave, coffee maker, and even flatware, silverware. and cooking utensils.

It was great to be able to walk out right from our room, past the tiki bar, and directly onto the boardwalk, and then right on to the beach! Beach chairs and towels were provided with no hassles.

For anyone looking for a more relaxed visit to a beach in Florida without the club/dance/expensive atmosphere of Miami Beachj, we highly recommend coming out to Hollywood instead of Miami. We split our trip between this resort and a hotel on Miami Beach, and actually bought new flights home a day early just to get out of Miami.

All in all, this place gave us one of our favorite vacation experiences. The cost, service, cleanliness, and amenities here were fantastic! Will never return to Miami, but would come back to Hollywood just to stay here again.

We'll often put up with a lot when we're at the beach. I had to sweep the room when I first got there, but there was a broom, and it was easy. Next time, I'm bringing my dyson. There will be a next time. This was affordable, especially during hurricane season. From our room you could see the ocean and the top of the tiki bar. The live music was nice. Right next door is a really big restaurant. It's only a short trip to an excellent pizza place as well (we walked). The famous Le Tub burger joint is within walking distance. It's right on the inner coastal across from Margaritaville. The bed was really soft and comfortable. The pillows were great. The air conditioner struggled because it is Florida. We were still very comfortable. This is a nice place with a well stocked kitchen. We only use the couch to look at the windows at the ocean in the intercoastal. I don't think we turned on the TV. The beach is right. Across the walkway. You can people watch as well. We stayed in unit number 6. There are others that are bigger. Number 6 was plenty big for us. The blinds were a little difficult to work. Not really enough to complain about, 😌 it was peaceful...

A hidden gem on the Hollywood boardwalk. Old Florida is still alive and well here at the Walkabout. Forget about the big box overpriced hotel next door. The Walkabout offers a sheikh boutique experience on the beach.

8 rooms in total, of the 8 rooms 4 are complete with living room, dining, Kitchenette and large king room. The 2md floors give great view of the beach right from the sofa.

Very comfortable. Very clean. Very well appointed with ammenties. The kitchen is a tremendous addition. Shop, get your own food and drinks.

No pool, but who needs a pool when you have the beach. Hang out at the beach, or better yet hang out by the Tiki bar. Plenty of places to sit and get sun, the beach is steps away and so is your next cerveza at the bar.

From the moment you book to the moment you leave the experience is phenomenal. Kudos to Veronica, she has always been there to help us out for each and every stay.
