The aroma of stale cigarettes in our room was surpassed only by the mold smell in our daughters' room. For more thorough ventilation and emergency exit capabilities, both rooms lacked screens AND lacked locks on the windows. This made it easy to wake each other by screaming (or reaching or climbing) in each other's windows just like the tweakers occupying the other rooms. One room had a towel or two, but no toilet paper, and had something that appeared to be bloody left in the unemptied trash. This made for a fun family guessing game of "which bodily function can I not do without tonight?" The lack of a door on one bathroom allowed easy access for those who knew which bodily function THEY could not do without, and the lack of toilet paper in this bathroom made this a particularly entertaining choice. In this room, the decor included coordinating cigarette burns in the drapes, bedspread AND sheets. There was custom texturing over the patched hole in the bathroom wall and expedited access for small items to pass to the adjoining room using the unpatched hole in the bedroom wall. In the other room, small children might enjoy bouncing on the spongy flooring still evident under this patch job. Fun! As an added feature, children might achieve interesting sound effects by jostling the plastic accordion door off the ceiling of the bathroom doorway. This appears to be imminent so I'm sure it wouldn't take too much energy. The family fun game for this room is "which basic hygiene procedure can I accomplish tonight?" In case you worried that the 8 sheets of toilet paper didn't make this enough of a challenge, know that they've got you covered because there were no towels or washcloths at all. All of the outer walkways were artistically adorned with garbage, and one stairwell was an amazing avant garde installation work using a rotten floor, cringing away from the wall that should have been attached, and complemented by a presumably non-working microwave oven. I think this exhibit was demonstrating the futility of...
Read moreThe manager was horrible, the black male 5 11’ about 200 pounds said I should let my under age son have intercourse with the little girls across the road. Also why is the grown man hanging out with these little white girls… He drives a red BMW and wanted to fight me a white female 5’5 160 pound. This man the hotel manager did not understand what was going on. He walked across the road and down the street to intimidate me. After I told him it’s my son he continued trying intimidate me. He went back to the hotel pulled a gray bag and ski mask out of a room. Putting the ski mask on and the small gray bag in the truck of his car. While on the phone with hoquiam police, he kept telling me he doesn’t care if the police are on the phone. This man is very unintelligent because he acted like he was going to hide his identity with a ski mask after I already had him on camera. A mother alone in her vehicle only concerned with my son’s whereabouts. Now unsure if he had a gun in his vehicle as he drove by stocking me. Very unsafe environment! I hope the owners think twice about their reputation in a small town. Especially when they just took it over and are starting out in our community. The man kept yelling he’s the damn manager of the hotel next to the YMCA where more innocent children run. Very unprofessional! Please note if the owners are willing to hire this person to represent their establishment. Most likely means it not somewhere you like to take your family or self to sleep. Last of all this is not the sand motel it’s has new owners and the hotel is now called Oceanside. This happened July 2nd 2024 around 5:34 pm. To all my Grays Harbor County friends and family please share this Google review to warn people to...
Read moreThe worst place me and anyone in my family has ever stayed. There were cigarette burns in the curtains and bedspread, the carpet was sticky and the whole room smelled like mold. Our bathroom had no toilet paper and no door. And the window had no screen, you can slide it open easily from the outside. TRUST NO GOOD REVEIWS FOR THIS PLACE, THE ONLY REASON WE SLEPT HERE IS BECAUSE THERE WAS NO OTHER...
