I am sad to give this two stars as this was always a five star establishment in my eyes. I was unaware that the place had sold and we were looking forward to the previous owner as he was one of our favorite bartenders out there. I want to start by saying it's a cool place they have an awesome backyard. Last weekend eight of us came rolling in there to have a few drinks and play some pool tabs. The bartenders were absolutely wonderful they worked hard and they had a great sense of humor. Unfortunately, there was the owner and another gal sitting over on the side of the bar. I would've never guessed in a million years that was the owner because the lady was giving our group horrible looks and mumbling under her breath. It came to my attention that she was the owner when she started micromanaging those poor bartenders behind the bar and not in a professional way by any means. One of the gentleman that was in our group went over and introduced himself and tried to warm up to her and give her a chance. Let's just say that she is one of the coldest and unprofessional bar owners I've known. I grew up in the bar industry and was with bar owners that day. I would go back any day of the week as long as the owner wasn't there. I just have to say again the bartenders were awesome they were working hard. The sad part of it all is we spent a bunch of money there and she couldn't even...
Read moreI went back and forth on whether I was going to leave a review and decided I would because how can improvements be made if people are unaware. My mother and I decided to patronize an establishment that had sponsored the Benny & Joon showing at the 7th Street theater before we attended the showing and decided upon the Welcome Inn. First off I do want to say that the food was delicious, there is no question about that which why I rated it a 2 star. Everything else about our visit fell very, very short. As soon as we walked in we were put off by the decor, the confederate flag and all the signage regarding politics were distasteful and made us uncomfortable from the start but my mother and I decided we would give it a try since the food reviews were worth it. Once seated it took almost 10 minutes to be acknowledged, the bar tender was the only one there on a Saturday night serving drinks and preparing food. Once our food was ordered it took an hour and a half to actually get the food. Thankfully the food was delicious. The bar tender did try and make up for the delay by no charging us for my mother's drink. We were almost late to our showing but made it in the nic of time, we arrived at the establishment at 5:35pm and the showing started at 7:30pm. To say we were disappointed with our experience was an understatement. Hopefully this review is used as an opportunity to see and make...
Read moreI review this with 5 stars before, that was when I thought I found my go to bar. All that has changed. I will never step foot in this bar again. I feel my friend and I were treated very poorly. The cook, I can only guess was the owner from the control she had, was quite rude about the fact they no longer sell nachos. They are on their menu, but no longer make them. She was angry because her prime rib didnt turn out, not my problem, I just wanted a pitcher of beer and a relaxing time with an out of town friend, and some nachos. What bar stops making nachos? So had to order a burger. This took at least a half hour to cook and no one else was waiting on food. When it came the bun had been toasted on grill and had burn marks on it and tasted burnt. The beer battered fries cost $4 extra, there was about 20 fries. It was a big let down, I am not a drunk, I go to bars here and there, now I am on the look for another I...
