Called ahead of check in and specifically asked what the resort fees would be for my stay. Erika told me there would be NO additional fees when i booked, then at check out we were charged for resort fees anyway.
Incidently there is nothing at the hotel that qualifies it as a resort in the first place... a rundown condo development at best. Most people seemed to be living there not vacationing.. a long term care nurse visited several residents on a daily basis.. homeless people were using the laundry facilities and using pool showers etc.
It was at least a relatively quiet neighborhood with automatic entry gates (that sometimes work) and a security patrol car that drives about periodically.
The laundry room by our unit was completely non functional.. and the (tiny) spa tub by our unit was also out of order for the first half of our stay, when it was finally repaired it was unusable due to over chlorination.. to the point of causing chemical burns and stinging eyes within minutes of getting in.
The second laundry room (across the otherside of the compound) was old and dirty and only 2 wash machines worked. With lots of people leaving items in those machines for hours upon the cycle completion etc.
Homeless people would somehow gain access to this room and use the electrical outlets to charge batteries and phones etc. But they all seemed friendly and essentially harmless.
The pool and spa tub next to this laundry room had a main gate that was permanently locked and another that was hidden around back that the homeless folks were leaving ajar to gain access to the showers etc.
The pool and laundry hours are 9am-9pm but they aren't secured and people can and do use them outside those hours.. security doesn't appear to pay any attention.
The accommodation itself was dated and grubby.. the carpets had stains all over and looked very dirty (probably owing to the fact they dont supply a vacuum or broom of any kind).. we had to clean the oven before use, and the dishwasher had food stuck to the front of it.. the beds were very, very (maybe too) soft but the bedding and towels etc. appeared clean. We declined towel service for the entire week as we had plenty already in the unit.
When it comes to customer service we didnt ask for much but the employees offered little and could perhaps do with some hospitality training to avoid the misunderstandings and overcharging of customers credit cards etc.
Not sure how they are claiming to be a FOUR star hotel either... I've stayed in plenty and believe they are three star at best but honestly I'd maybe rate this...
Read moreFirst time at this resort. Overall we enjoyed our stay. It's a gated facility, with key-card entry gates. On the positive side, the staff is very friendly and helpful. Housekeeping was outstanding (our unit was spotless). The Pool areas are nice. Our 2-bedroom unit was large and roomy (except for bathrooms and kitchen) and adequately stocked with kitchen items, towels, pillows, blankets. The grounds are generally in good condition. The furniture was very nice (recently upgraded), and beds/bedding were comfortable. TVs worked very well. Location is great for golf (Indian Palms golf course is on site...it's fine for any golfer, but needs some maintenance work in a number of areas). Facility is close to just about anywhere in Indio, but is a 20-30 minute drive to the west end of the valley. On the down side the unit is very dated. Cabinets have been painted over too many times, some of the hardware is broken, and the bathrooms are small (especially the 1/2 bath). Counters in baths and kitchen don't appear to have been remodeled or repaired since the unit was built. That being said, everything (including hot water and plumbing) worked very well. Our Unit was a 2-story (living/dining downstairs, bedrooms upstairs). So it you don't care for stairs or have trouble getting up/down (it was hard to haul luggage up them), then this is not the place for you. Facility is part of the Indian Palms residential community. It has 18 (yes, 18) HOAs, and it's a kind of odd looking in many ways. There are beautiful homes, with nicely manicured yards. Then across the street are units that are very "under-maintained" for lack of a better description. Consequently the Registration Office can be hard to find as it's mixed in with some of the units and the sign is small. We didn't use the laundry facilities, but we were not impressed with them. Many washers/dryers were out of order, and they work off an app on your phone (not coin operated). Most the working units were very beat up. Supposedly they are all being replaced (which would be a good thing). If your unit is close to one of the, then lucky you...otherwise it could be a hike, and you'll likely be driving to the laundry room. All in all, for the price we paid for the week, it was a reasonable stay. However, we likely wouldn't return as we just can't do stairs as well as we used too. If it were on one level, then we'd...
Read moreMy first impression was not a good one at all. The directions were not ideal. I get to the main gate and security didnt make it very welcoming as he made me feel that going through this his gate was not the correct way to go. From there, when I arrived, Michael didnt seem to care about my comment about how my impression of the place so far wasnt great, sort of brushed it off. He never explained the WIFI login instructions, he just handed me the key gave directions to the location and said have a nice day. For two days, I was not on your resort's WIFI. I contacted tech support twice and it took the second time for a tech guy to call me back. When he did call me back, he states that he will call be back in 15 min....2 hours later I get a callback stating he was taking his dog to the vet and the vet took longer than expected. A simple text or a call stating this would have been appreciated. Then when I receive my temp check text (as I would call it) to see how my stay was, I rated it a 5. One of the employees at the resort respond on why such a low rating. I explained the above reasons plus in addition, we had not gotten a person to switch out towels and trash. My resort was from Fri-fri and I had gotten there on sat. I was supposed to receive service on Mon. By the time I get the text, it is now Wed. They stated that someone was sleeping on the couch and she did not come in. This was true about my son sleeping on the couch, but Michael stated that as long as there is DND sign on the door, then the cleaning lady would come in to take towels and trash. She could have AT LEAST came back later. When I responded back, again, no one really took my concerns seriously. Told me again to have a nice day. Then to finalize, I was told that I would pay 140 for the week in fees, however, I am seeing more like 180 and I will be calling in to speak to someone on that as well. I received,Overall, my experience at the resort was not the best. I would not recommend anyone to come due to experience I had, plus the resort was too busy with people that lived there (which I was TOTALLY unaware of) and it didnt seem kept up to date on...
