I booked this hotel for a friend who needed a safe place to stay due to an unsafe domestic situation. In the confirmation email, we noticed that there was a required $100 cash deposit. I called and asked if we could put that on my card since my friend would not have it, and they said no, it had to be paid in person in cash (not card). I thought this was weird but drove in the next day to pay it in advance. The man at the counter told me that the cash was not necessary and that he would just charge it to my card instead, so I went in for nothing. I made sure to confirm with him that my friend was good to check in with just her ID and he said yes. The following day when she checked in, the employee at the desk was very rude to her and said she would be kicked out of the hotel with her kids at 11pm if she did not come up with $100 cash by then. My friend is injured, can barely walk, and was extremely distressed at this point in time. I called the hotel and explained my frustration. After this, the workers were very apologetic and even brought my friend a fruit basket a couple days later. I wish that I could leave a better review because the kindness of those employees really is appreciated, but worse was coming.
After 4 nights at the hotel, we realized that my friend would need a place to stay for a full 3 weeks longer. I called the hotel and asked about their weekly rates and was told that it was $550 per week for her room. I explained that this was a little bit much for us and that I would start looking around elsewhere, but might still go for it if I didn't find anything as it is hard for my friend to get around and it would be nice to stay there. They called me back a little later and offered me a special rate of $455 per week, which I greatly appreciated. I said I needed a day to think about it and evaluate options but I would very likely be booking at that rate.
The next day, I called to book and now there was a different employee who was very rude to me over the phone. She told me that they can't book over the phone, even though for the last 5 days that's how I had been handling things with this establishment, so I would have to drive the 30 minutes to sort it out. I went, and when I got there I was charged at a weekly rate of $669! This was far more than the original rate, not to mention the reduced rate I had been offered over the phone. At this point its was late and I hadn't made plans to move my friend somewhere else the next morning, so I had to pay at this way higher rate. The employee refused to give me the name of the person who had offered me the previous rate, did not let me speak with her boss, and was very rude throughout the encounter.
I wish I could write a better review, but the fact is that the staff at this hotel are very rude, seem to have different information about how payment works, when payment can happen, and most importantly about the actual rates that people get charged. If you are booking in advance and don't need any special accommodations and have $100 cash with you, you will probably be fine here and the building is okay. But do not expect to be treated kindly or consistently should you need to talk...
Read moreI DO NOT RECOMMEND. the front desk “manager” DEE was unprofessional, lacks the ability to communicate and resolve guest issues and complaints and lacks the fundamental basics of customer service. I wanted to file a complaint and resolve with the owner regarding fraudulent charges on my credit card. I was initially told I had to wait to pay electronically due to their “system change” so that evening I had another lady knock on my door and say “i need to pay, why haven’t I paid my room” I explained that the previous staff told me to do so tonight or tomorrow due to the system change l. Ended up just paying cash to Dee and she told me I couldn’t get a receipt until I check out. As I’m opening my phone to record this info I notice my credit card was being charged by the hotel. I asked to speak to the owner Dee told me he comes and goes and she doesn’t know when he will be there. I asked for him to contact me then because there’s issues with my card. We exchanged words on her unprofessional conduct and refusal to even give me his name so I could call and follow up. Later that night the police knocked on my door saying the hotel called saying there was a domestic dispute reported by the hotel coming from my room 😳 witch was not true and only myself and my kids where in the room watching tv. The police saw it was a false claim and apologized and left. Next day Dee sends 3 different “staff” to my door saying I need to pay or leave. I told them I would be coming to the front desk because I paid and also called this morning asking for the owner. Dee then calls my room phone and starts saying “you need to pay now you never call i been here all morning i don’t care who you think you talked to but you just need to pay or leave”. I told her I would be downstairs IMMEDIATELY. I called my lawyer as I’m at the front desk confronting “Dee” the “MANAGER” at first then a few minutes later “ just front desk staff”. IM DEFINITELY pursuing legal action due to the fraudulent charges and I believe she Orchestrated the FALSE “domestic dispute “ because she knew she took my money refused to give a receipt then refused to give me information to contact the owner about my credit card charges then told me 3 different stories about who she was and her job title and that the owner was out of town until Monday but then when I confronted her she walked off to call him. Then when the police where contacted again and they asked me my side of the incident they then informed me that this particular hotel has many calls and complaints and same or similar incidents and that it’s family owned and they try to cover and protect each other against claims and reports and do not provide clear information to file a complaint or even provide staff names or titles but yet they all have access to the computers which stores personal info like credit card, addresses etc and they have access to enter rooms. WORST MOTHERS DAY WEEKEND EVER‼️ stay tuned because it’s definitely a legal matter now and they DEFINITELY got the...
Read moreOur stay here was the worst experience of our lives. We waited ten minutes to check in, just what a travel weary person wants to do. We checked into what was sold as a “deluxe king suite”. Not only was it half the size of a normal hotel room but we couldn’t get the television to work. When we called the front desk for assistance we got the pleasure of speaking to people who either didn’t speak any English or at least pretended like they didn’t. Our phone “chirped” all night long making it hard to sleep and when we finally did get to sleep we awoke to people yelling at each other from the same room! The whole time we could hear our neighbors above us and to each side of us (no doubt we would have heard below us had we not been on the first floor). I thought to myself that I could live with being overcharged to stay in a cheaply constructed place where the whole time no one cared about what was going on as long as we could have a good breakfast before heading out on the road again. The final straw was the so called “continental breakfast” was nothing more than a juice machine in the lobby. The refrigerator was the highlight of the trip. It was spacious and clean. I attempted to contact the corporate office of this property (because when we checked out everyone acted like they didn’t understand English again) to no avail. They don’t care! I gave them ample time and provided 2 phone numbers for them to contact us at and they couldn’t be bothered. If you value your money, sleep and time then this is not the place to stay. I might have some sort of understanding had we not shelled out $125 for this nightmare. Do yourself a favor and book literally anywhere else if you want a leisure trip. Now on top of everything else they charged us twice for the same stay and refuse to refund our money. They won’t even acknowledge that they did it! Trying to contact corporate is a joke as they must care about their guests as much as hotel staff does which is not at all. Stay very far away from this place if you value your sanity. We’ve been dealing with the aftermath of this trip for a month already with no resolution in sight....
