Everything was wonderful until we went down for breakfast and were bullied around by an older lady employee named Max, I believe. Only two of us at the breakfast bar and she absolutely HAD to get in our way several times, interrupting and making us wait until she was done doing what she needed to do before we could continue getting food. She was openly rude, even standing with the kitchen door open and staring directly at my 11yo son for several seconds when he went back for another plate - it was only 7:30 in the morning, so yes, you're probably going to have to make more food! She caught me watching her stare at him, and gave ME a dirty look. I finally got up and stepped in the way so he wouldn't see her. Absolutely nobody deserves to be made that uncomfortable, especially paying guests, and a child!
It wasn't just us; she was constantly shuffling around the breakfast bar, wiping down and forcing other people to work around her when trying to get their food. No greetings, no smiles, just silently conveying a clear impression that guests are a huge inconvenience. I understand she has a job to do, but we've stayed at other AmericInns and hotels that seem to keep their food areas clean and supplied without one overzealous employee constantly inserting themselves underfoot, not allowing guests to relax and eat in peace! It's a shame, because the king suite we stayed in was fabulous and other staff members delightful, but this one employee is the sole reason we will NOT be back any time soon. I should note that if not for her, this would have easily been a 5...
Read moreSpent three days and two nights in one of the suites. Overall a positive experience. Rate was great. Room was spacious, well appointed and clean. Wi Fi was strong and easy to use. Good water pressure. Decent and free breakfast. Negatives: no elevator and a small number of handicapped rooms which were all booked. My husband, who walks with a cane, was unable to step into the tub. Also, why does AmericInn build so many of their hotels with two stories and no elevators?? Plus, the breakfast areas are way too small and difficult to navigate. Only one or two people can access food at one time. Employee tending the breakfast was very brusque. Vending machines are outdated and only take cash. Desk attendant at check in was luke warm at best, offered no welcome or details on breakfast or pool hours. She didnt tell us our room was at the very end of the hall so it would be easier for us to park at the end of the building, even when she saw my husband was handicapped. He struggled to walk the long corridor. Gal at the front desk the next morning was way better. Minor irritants: lobby newspapers were over a week old. Bed was hard. Two TVs in our suite had two different channel listings which was weird. Love the fresh cookies though. Will...
Read moreThis stay was such a great stay. Such incredible service for a small town what I thought would be a basic motel was a lot more, the service was incredible, really good breakfast that was included in the stay super clean indoor pool. Anything you needed the General Manager Tenae was so nice and got us anything we needed. To bad all Motels, Hotels and Resorts don't have people like Tenae and her staff. If you're in Iowa Falls or the general area this is definitely worth the money even though the prices are incredibly reasonable. Big, quiet and restful rooms and one of the most well run hotels I've stayed at, and I travel often for business and pleasure. You won't be disappointed and if anything is a disappointment just call the Manager Tenae and she'll make sure it's fixed for you. We needed a fan for white noise that we can sleep with and Tenae actual has one waiting for us waiting in our room. I wish I could give more than five stars and give the manager a rating alone but this place to stay deserves the best rating you can get in my opinion. I'll...
