The facility is nice enough, and the hotel staff are decent too. Been there several times skiing at Brule - nice value for the economy traveler.

This bad review is about AMERICINN CORPORATE.

The ONLINE RESERVATION SYSTEM has one TERRIBLE LOOPHOLE. While making a reservation for 2 weeks out, I accidentally did not change the non-obvious default date (today), entered all my info, clicked submit, and I now very quickly and simply had a reservation for today. You'd think they would explicitly make you fill out the date. How many people make an online reservation for TODAY? Not most people, I'd guess. Oopsie.

So, with a reservation for the wrong night, you'd think I could change it. Nope, can't change it online. On to the phone.. the reservation call center, interestingly, does not change reservations, only make them. They would be happy to give you the number of the local hotel (who would ordinarily be authorized to perform this) though.

So, another phone call in, and the local hotel doesn't see the reservation. It takes a while.... (no idea if it's hours or days, but it's more than 30 minutes) So, 30 minutes later, I'm still stuck with a project to get this fixed.

I call back at the reservation center, and after quickly describing the situation, the next lady explains to me again that this is "the reservation center" and they can't make "changes". "Especially since I'm within the 48 hour no-cancellation window" - even though she knows I just put it in. Kinda clueless, clearly indoctrinated. The people were all "polite" though.

I quickly ask for a supervisor, which thankfully only took a minute. She at least was empowered, and was finally able to get the reservation changed. 45 minutes after I noticed the one missed button click, I finally got what I wanted.

My mistake, but their "system" certainly wasn't accommodating...

The night managers were yelling at our children constantly and they were not misbehaving. Our toilet was not working, so they gave us the plunger to take care of it ourselves. After we couldn't fix it, we were moved to a room (less beds). I complained and the two ladies argued with me about the situation. The costumer service on Saturday night 1/25 was horrible. They were mean and not customer friendly at all.

A bunch of our families were playing cards together in the lobby and we were told twice to be quiet and it was only 8 pm. Overall, this place was horrible. Our children were scared of the ladies. Our room situation was not handled well. We will not be going back.

One good thing was the breakfast and the morning staff we interacted with were very nice and helpful. Thank...

Our last visit in this hotel was not really pleasant stay for our family. Annual holiday ski trip we take every year was spoiled by a manager who constantly remind us how many minutes we have left when we sit quietly in lobby or scrolling kids for every little thing, felt like we where not welcome there. When it came to check out we found out she put extra 300$ charge not even notifying us, for apparently bringing snowboard to the room ,and took picture of my 10 year son as a proof ,carrying a bag with his snow gear. After disputing this silly charge with her with no obvious proof of such a thing ,and making my husband so upset we left this place with so much disappointment as we really enjoy coming in this area, but will never stay in this hotel again. thank you Miss...

What a delightful surprise to find this hotel in little old Iron River. You enter into a north woods lobby complete with an antler chandelier and stone fireplace. An open stairway leads to the second floor. The breakfast bar is too the right of the lobby and was immaculate. Chris was in there cleaning up after guests and refilling anything that needed it. Besides a waffle maker, they had a pancake maker. We checked out the huge pool area. It came with a separate hot tub and a pool table. There was also a shower and a bathroom. They provided towels for the pool, too. Our room was huge. We had the king-sized bed and still there was lots of room. Again, everything was immaculate and smelled fresh. There is no stale or musty smell at all. I'd definitely stay here again.

Needs better cleaning staff. Booked a jacuzzi suite, the first room I was given the jacuzzi tub was dirty and had hairs in it so we were given another room in which the jacuzzi tub was ALSO DIRTY and had puddles in it already. Was given a 3rd room to which the tub was not 100% clean either however at this point it was almost midnight and just accepted it (bad choice) after showing the night staff multiple pictures and videos, the “Morning Manager” told me that the night crew went to the rooms in question and the tubs were spotless ! The pool has sand all over the place on the pool deck on the pool steps etc….same sand that I see all over the parking lot…..definitely need to upgrade cleaning practices…ESPECIALLY IF ROOMS ARE ALMOST $200 a night

After some pretty awful experiences with the lodging at the local ski resort, we decided to try staying in town instead and were pleasantly surprised. Clean and cozy rooms, super friendly and helpful staff, and lovely breakfast. Check in was smooth and everything was relatively quiet for a Sunday night. My only (rather minor) complaints were that the hot tub and pool had WAY too much chlorine; my eyes were burning and my throat was sore after a night and morning's worth of being in there. Also the fitted sheet on my bed had pretty terrible elastic and I wound up wrapped up in it twice during the night. Other than those minor issues, our stay was lovely and we will definitely be returning next time we head in this direction.
