We just spent a week here and were extremely impressed with Villa Tropical and Shacks beach. We stayed in the studio room in the main building. Our room was more spacious than most studio condos that we've been in. The room was clean and had a comfortable bed. The view of shacks beach was stunning. The area surrounding Villa Tropical was quiet, relaxed, and safe. We left our scuba gear outside on our patio for the entire week and did not have anything stolen. There is plenty to do and see close to shacks and 2 restaurants within easy walking distance. We highly recommend Ola Lola's for food and drinks. As for the diving on shacks beach... Do not plan to dive here in the winter. The water is too rough most days and you can get injured easily on the sharp rocks. It is great for snorkeling but not inside the blue hole. Wait for summer to dive the hole. We found plenty of safer shore dive sites on the west coast. This site is perfect for kite surfing and we watched these incredible athletes in awe for hours. We plan to return to shacks beach and VT in calmer months for what we predict will be top notch shore diving. We want to thank Trevor for helping us with dive suggestions and accommodating all of our requests. He made us feel like we were staying with family. It is impossible to describe how amazing this place is. It is truly a vacation when staying on...
Read moreFirst of all, your host, Trevor, is great. Immediately responsive- we had a situation in which we needed to switch units, and he came through for us. Nothing at all wrong with our first unit,a small studio facing the beach- just that there was a large group of people who were vacationing together and they stayed up a little too late for us. So he moved us to a larger one bedroom directly facing the beach, a bit further past Villa Tropicale, in the Quinones. We were unable to stay there the whole week we were booked, so we had to switch to a third unit. Although not on the beach, this was a 2 bedroom unit, that still had a bit of an ocean view. Every single apt was clean, and had everything we needed and more.... Villa Tropical has a gift store with almost everything you need if you don't want to drive into Isabella. Which is great if you don't want to leave the beach at all! They also rent surfboards... and 10 bucks will get you a snorkel and fins for the week! Truly beautiful, clean, cozy units all. You will see photos of 3 different...
Read morePosted my Receipt for the portion I paid with one card Since this place says I did not stay here The staff was great BUT...If you want nasty, roach, spider infestation this is the place for you. We literally had to go to the store and purchase bug spray and cleaning supplies. The ceiling fans had layers of dust on them. The walls need painting or a good cleaning because someone from every stay before us left their marks on the walls, disgusting.
No headboards just beds pushed against a nasty wall with dust and spider filled drapes.
NEVER AGAIN.
The staff was nice but they truly need to clean up and I mean a deep clean.
The view is nice but all the lounging chairs were placed where they got soaked by the rain and we were not able to simply lounge outside. Beach was rocky not very clean, glass in some areas.
The kitchen was stocked and we were able to cook whenever the electricity stayed on. Lots of power surges.
They are way overpriced for such...
