Our trip to Casa La Lanchita was an absolute DREAM, especially with my 15-year-old daughter by my side. It was our first time staying there, and coming back to the freezing cold of Minnesota a few days made us long for the breathtaking views and the soothing sounds of the ocean.||From the moment we arrived, Lucy, who effortlessly manages CLL, welcomed us at the Ferry. And stepping into the Casa, we were embraced by Doug and MariKay, along with their furry kids. Their warm reception, complete with hugs, Punch Rum, and cold sodas, instantly won us over—we couldn't help but fall in love with the hosts and the Casa.||Everything we needed for our three-night stay was right there at CLL. The views were beyond amazing, and the pools were just the right size to cool off. It was wonderfully peaceful and cozy. Every morning, we woke up eager to soak in the surroundings and embark, on foot, to our daily adventures. And every night, we drifted off to sleep with content smiles, utterly relaxed. Our room was spacious and inviting, but the views... Absolutely STUNNING! ||Staying at CLL felt like visiting our favorite aunt and uncle. Doug, MariKay, and Lucy made us feel completely at home. They added to the laid-back charm of Vieques—no fuss, no frills, just genuine smiles and simplicity. THANK YOU for providing a space where we could create beautiful memories. We're already looking forward to our next mother-daughter trip back there.||Helpful Tips:|-If you are carrying a light backpack, it’s an easy walk from the Ferry to CLL (less than 10 minutes). We had suitcases so the ride from Lucy was so nice!|-You can easily walk into town to get groceries or go to restaurants.|-You will want a car or golf cart to drive to the south part of the Island where you can discover more of the beautiful beaches and more restaurants.|-CLL is not a place for “loud party goers”. All the guests that were there the same time as us were respectful...
Read moreWe had a nice stay at Casa La Lanchita. Super friendly owners. Generally well maintained although there were numerous minor maintenance issues such as burned out light bulbs, a broken handrail, etc. The room was generally clean but lacked attention to detail such as ceiling fans, refrigerator top, etc, nothing that kept us from being comfortable though. Beautiful ocean view from our room above the pool (#8), but the balcony there is the walkway to units #7 & #9 so it lacked privacy, which didn't matter much since we were right above the pool anyway. There was a group doing water aerobics for about an hour 2 times during our 5 day stay, but not too early thank goodness. As for privacy, unit #4 would have been a better choice for us even though it had a partially obstructed view due to a palm tree. Kitchen was functional but needed shelf space for grocery storage. (For groceries, Supermercado Morales was cheaper and better stocked but Family Market had better hours). There was a small beach in front of the Casa, tide dependant and not good for swimming, but nice to walk on. Overall, we had a nice relaxing stay and would go back to Casa...
Read moreLa Lanchita possibly has the best location a hotel has ever had. You are literally sleeping on top of the ocean. If you look over the balcony, the waves are crashing right underneath the hotel! It is the most amazing feeling to fall asleep and wake up to the sound of these waves right underneath your room! ||Another huge value to this place are Mary Kay and Doug, the owners, and their little menagerie of dogs, cats, and street horses. They are very cool. I stayed there twice and each time I feel right at home, as if I'm visiting my grandparents who have the best oceanfront property! ||The look of the hotel and the interior of the rooms are outdated, that's for sure, but not dirty. They can definitely use some updating, but that would also definitely bring the price of the stay up, so I think this is a fair trade, to have an oceanfront room with infinity pool for less than a 150 dollars a night! I will take that trade off.||All rooms face the ocean. One can watch the sunset from the infinity pool. ||I love this little old hotel...
