I was so excited to come here. Unfortunately, it missed the mark on almost all of the amenities I was looking forward to using. When I told them I was bringing a dog, the hosts quickly sent a text back (same day as my reservation) telling me I can’t leave my dog unattended, ever. None of this information is provided in the reservation email or on their website. That expectation is unrealistic when coming to visit Yellowstone, especially with no prior notice to booking a non-refundable stay.
Second, the hot tub that I was super excited to use, was useless. As others have said, it takes several hours to heat up, to somewhat lukewarm temperatures. It was work; which was the last thing I want to be doing on vacation while paying over $360/night. After all of that, I never even got to use it because it didn’t warm up enough after 3 hours!
Third, Yellowstone is not 30 mins away as stated on their website and you do not get “spectacular views” from your cabin. The West Yellowstone entrance is about 40 minutes away (~33 miles) that being the most ideal circumstances with little to no traffic. Your neighbor’s cabin is right next to your hot tub area. The “blackout” shades are not completely blackout. Yes, your neighbors can see into your bathroom and cabin at night. The entire property is not in a spectacular location, but rather a gravel parking lot that feels more like RV camping rather than staying at a “luxury” cabin. Don’t expect much privacy.
Lastly, just when I thought maybe the hosts didn’t mean to do a bait and switch with their pet-friendly policy…the morning of my check-out, the hosts text me to let me know I need to take out my trash to the dumpster. This is not mentioned at all in their check-out instructions they leave inside the cabins or anywhere else. While it’s a small inconvenience, I immediately got flashbacks to staying at an Airbnb and all the reasons while I chose to book a hotel instead of an Airbnb.
I hate leaving a review like this for the small business owners, but given how surprisingly unreceptive they’ve been to other negative reviews, that certainly had validity, I feel okay leaving this honest review. I really hope the owners are open to making some changes to improve experiences for future guests. The price does not reflect a luxurious boutique stay.
Reply to the owners: The pet policy is not mentioned on the website or in my reservation actually. Both are documented well so I’m happy to provide proof. The only thing mentioned is only one dog allowed per cabin. Nowhere does it state I cannot leave the dog unattended. This definitely needs to be added. It’s obvious the hosts are aware this would turn dog owners away or they would make it very clear on their website prior to booking. No, not every hotel in the world requires you to never leave your dog unattended. I’ve been to at least 30(not kidding) hotels around the US and Canada with my dog and have never been told I can’t ever leave my dog unattended at any of them. I would never leave my dog for 8 hours or longer unattended in an unfamiliar place. The owner specified I could NEVER leave my dog unattended. Meaning I can’t leave to get groceries without my dog. Dogs aren’t allowed everywhere and it’s more cruel to leave a dog in a car for no reason other than hotel owners who don’t have a clue on customer service practices.
No, the host did not offer, on several occasions, to warm up the hot tub for me, nor did they provide fire starters. What they did provide was wet wood that was always left outside and I had to purchase my own fire starters. I would have happily let them get to go work and stoke the fire every night if that was offered. The host offered ONE time to show me how to do it myself when I arrived at 4pm for check in. That was it. Acting like providing FREE wood, that’s wet, is some amazing amenity when it’s a requirement for the hot tub is ridiculous.
Customer service is seriously lacking here. The cabin owners can’t take any criticism...

Read moreMy girlfriend and I stayed here for a few days while visiting Yellowstone and the surrounding area. It was highly recommended by a friend who had previously stayed there, had good reviews, and we liked the website... It totally exceeded our expectations!
We immediately gravitated to our cabin's hot tub to soothe our aches and pains from a long day of travel - after about twenty minutes looking up at the spacious and starry sky right in outside our door, the 6 hours of screaming babies and tight seating melted away.
The staff was welcoming, knowledgeable, and friendly (as was their dog : ) ) - and they knew the area incredibly well. We arrived without much of a plan, but Blake gave us plenty of advice - what sights were close by, where to find good food, which lakes and rivers to go to - he was an activity life saver.
I was also pleasantly surprised that there were several dining options (including an ice cream parlor) either within walking distance, or like a 2 minute drive away.
The cabins were bigger than I expected, warm and cozy with plush furniture and stylish fixtures. It was clear they are newly built. The space was more than the two of us needed - probably good for a family with 2-3 kids or two adult couples traveling together. We going the kitchen was great for prepping food, but the street of the show was 100% the Blackstone grill - I can't believe they sprung for those - we used it day and night for bacon, eggs, burgers, hot dogs, etc.
In addition to the hot tub, we also took advantage of the sauna and cold plunge facilities - perfect for a 40 year old pre and/or post hiking.
Overall, Yellowstone Peaks was one of the best places we've stayed in recent memory. The accommodations and amenities left us wanting for nothing and the feel of it allowed us (city folk) to be in the "great outdoors" without having to feel isolated or uncomfortable - "great outdoors adjacent" is probably a good way of putting it.
Wonderful place, 5 stars, and we look forward to staying...
