Will never go back!!! We have been coming to Sally Mountain Cabins for years. We loved the last owners who did an amazing job and were fair and reasonable. We had booked 4 Cabins for a multiple family vacation a year ago. New owners have now purchased it and we confirmed it 3 times before making the almost 5 hour trip up there to make sure all was all set. They agreed to the original booking and assured us all was good. We got up there and paid in full for our week and then was told by the owner Jenny that 4 Cabins with our group of 10 was no longer large enough to have. We were only allowed 2 of the 4 we had booked. She refused to honor what we booked a year ago and had confirmed with her 3 separate times before arriving. Those other 2 cabins sat empty this whole week. We could see her posting on fb that she had cancelations and was trying to rent them out to no avail. We had multiple families and 2 people still working part-time that needed the space. Hence confirming 3 times that all was set. Your loss, our group will NOT be back. After years and years of going up to Sally Mountain Cabins it's a shame to to see come to such bad management. Cory you are missed!!!!
Also buyer beware! Though it doesn't say so on the website, dogs are no longer free. It's $5 a day. Also kids are no longer half price under 18. A fun little tidbit that would have been nice to know. They are now half price under 12. Not an issue but would have been nice to know the 3 times we confirmed everything that these prices had changed. A few people we met at Sally Mountain cabins also told us they were surprised by this as well. Again, would have been nice to know before getting there. No fire pits at the Cabins anymore. We ended up asking for one to use. Sad to see this once amazing family vacation place go down hill. Will never go back and will...

Read moreMy husband and I had never stayed in Jackman, Maine before, but we are avid kayakers, and the Moose River was on our "bucket list" for the summer. Wanting to be sure of good weather, we tried to book lodging in Jackman only a few days before our trip, only to find that all of the many cabins (especially the best priced ones) seemed to be booked for the rest of the short warm season (ending mid August). Many tourists even book a year in advance, not knowing the weather.||Thank God someone cancelled at Sally's Mountain Cabins, and we were able to get in short notice. We were able to be near the water and were put in the "Sunset Cabin", which has an outstanding view of Big Wood Pond and Sally's Mountain. The rustic log cabin was spacious and comfortable, with full kitchenette and many beds for a large party. ||We had such a great weekend, including wonderful weather, that we have booked a year in advance for a whole week at Sally's Mountain Cabins (in the same cabin). The price was reasonable, and the owner laid-back and accommodating. We highly recommend this business.||If you are fussy about your clothes, bring clothes hangers, as there are wall hooks, but no hangers. Also a large bar of bath soap would be helpful, and maybe a regular size "Mr. Coffee" maker as the one there is a mini one that we needed to run through for several rounds in the morning. ||Restaurants in town are not the best. Next year I will bring pre-cooked meals that only need reheating in the microwave. We spend long days on the water and I don't want a big meal production at night, although the cabin kitchen is pretty...
