Updated 7/2023: We came back to Flamingo Lake and rented a cabin for 1 week. We stayed in cabin # 39, right on the lake in a bedroom (not the new ones) with a loft. We absolutely loved the cabin, the value was great - especially with the front porch, location/view and quality amenities. I took several photos inside to show the size and comfortability with a family of 5. Everything was provided, including extra TP, dish rags, a toaster, coffee pot & everything needed, a few towels, bedding (including pillows & extra blankets (I still used my own with protecors, bugs are everywhere!) The air conditioning was phenomenal, with ceiling fans. The loft area got a little hot but with a box fan up there it cooled down. There are 2 4" teddy bear mattresses in the loft with room for a blow up twin. There are no shades on the windows up there and you can see right in so consider hanging towels or something at night. The bedroom had a very squishy queen sized memory foam mattress, no squeaks, plenty of closet space and shared a door into the bathroom. Stand up shower (would have loved a detachable shower head for foot rinses) without any toiletries provided. We will absolutely stay here again, have recommended to friends too. There is a Walmart and Home Depot within walking distance, the laundry room was tidy (small with a few machines not working but never had to wait). Golf carts not really needed; wished there were more activities or sports/play options. The boat rentals were a little pricey, the pool is pretty small and gets crowded on weekends with a mixed bag of travelers and long term residents. Flamingo Lake's cash for is the cafe, with most activities located here like bingo, karaoke & trivia. The food was fine, but quite expensive. They serve mixed drinks, beer and some frozen cocktails as well as kid friendly options. Recommend buying a bottle of wine from them vs. a glass, much cheaper. Also, bring leftovers or snacks to feed the turtles, fish and birds off the dock and tip the staff - they all were truly fantastic. Beware of the "locals" or long-term residents; you'll leave with many new friends and lots of fun stories!

I honestly for the life of me, doesn't know why this wonderful place has a score of only 4.3. It deserves a very high 5, a high rating for sure. We are currently staying here, in our rv, and have really enjoyed it. The people are very sweet, and courteous. Someone said there is no security at night, well I'm here to tell u, there is .and they are constantly watching out for this place. Tina is very sweet. They also have a beautiful beach here, has pretty pink fountains in the middle of it. They have a café that has very good food. They make sure the campers have fun by, having bingo nights, karaoke 🎤 and trivia. They have laundry and shower facilities. Thus place is beautiful. The groundskeeper does a very good job in landscaping. I would definitely recommend it. Not to mention, walmart, home depot, and lots of restaurants and fast food, is only a hop, skip and a jump away. I say this place deserves a 10+. 😆 I also wanted to add I took a walk about, and discovered 2 big size, well maintained, and furnished with water, and benches dog parks. This is wonderful to bring your fur babies to get exercise and ourselves. They have a platform for the fur babies to have shade. Even obstacles for the fur babies that are trained to go thru, or jump over. This is the ideal place for u if ur traveling, and need a great place To stay. It also has a playground for the kids, not to mention, a fitness center, and has concerts and bands. So much entertainment in this beautiful resort. I would definitely recommend it for family gatherings, reunions. If u have campers or rvs. 💯💯💯❤️🦮🐕‍🦺🐩🐕

Up until recently, I have been a very happy resident of Flamingo RV Park and Resort. This was even after years of broken promises of upgrades to the park that never happened. MOST of the staff, especially security, house keeping, maintenance, and one or two of the front desk attendees are welcoming and friendly. However, what is now dished out to the residents or "select" residents is definitely not "Hospitality at its Best." I understand that this is a business, however when you are told two months (end of Jan) prior that your lot rate would go up by only $40 per month then told that actually it's going up by almost $400 in totality two months later (Mar 14) in less than two weeks, this is not hospitality. I was told that I would either have to vacate the park, pay the additional rate, or move to the new section which was pretty much full. The worst thing of it all was that after four years and MULTIPLE referrals, I was not asked if I intended on staying, I was told "you weren't intending on staying anyways, right?" Until that moment, I had planned on remaining at Flamingo. No longer. Flamingo used to bring relaxation and calm after a long day at work. Now, I'm looking forward to the day that I roll out. It's a shame that a place that boasts hospitality does not feel hospitable.

We rented on of the yurts this past weekend and was excited because we have never stayed in one and we were meeting other family members who were staying in their camper. The yurt was cute but floors were very dirty. You have access to a private bathroom outside which was fine until it stopped flushing. Called the office and they sent out maintenance who informed us he could not fix the plumbing issue and to go to office and get key for other bathroom since no one was in the other Yurt. We retrieved the key and guess what the other toilet was the same way. Then the air unit went out. We called the office located on site around 7:30 pm and no answer. Couldn't reach anyone through the website. The website stated the office was open to 8:00 pm so I went up there and no one was there. I found an emergency number and called that and the lady was really nice but we were told that the plumbing couldn't be fixed until Monday (the day we were leaving). She sent maintenance down to fix the air and it couldn't be fixed so they brought in a portable unit for the night. Maintenance told us that they were aware the heating part of the unit wasn't working but they didn't know the air wasn't working so we were never told when we made the reservations. When I turned in the keys I asked the lady for some kind of credit and was told she would have to talk to the general manager and of course we haven't heard anything. Its a very nice resort if you have your own dwelling but we won't ever do that again. No plumbing and no air or heat is not my idea of a...
