China Wok — Restaurant in Jacksonville

I was just released after a 4 day stay in the hospital after eating the House Special Lo Mien here. Got the "to go" on Thursday last week. Diarrhea started Friday morning and just would not stop. I am a healthy adult, not the sickly type. This "mess" knocked me on my butt! I tried treating with Immodium (that usually stops it, right? NO). I drove myself to the ER on Tuesday, 4 days later, when it just would not stop....could barely walk in. I won't go into the details of my condition, but it was severe and I was immediately admitted into a room the step below ICU. Food poisoning is real and can be fatal. I'm grateful for good insurance, because the hospital bills will surely be insane. The ER, all the lab work done, the massive amounts of fluids and antibiotics pumped into me, the specialists consulted, the emergency colonoscopy.....oh yeah...fun stuff! IF I had eaten ANYTHING else that day, I couldn't pin it on this place. But, their lo mien was all I had. I do plan on going back to speak to the owner of this establishment, once the bills come rolling in, not for gain, but...just to have in hand and to explain to he/she that THIS is what happens when you do NOT store food or cook food correctly. Have eaten here for years, no issue, but it only takes one time and some uneducated employee to cause an extreme and possible...

Verrryyy rude! After every item I ordered the lady said, “IS that it?? I said ma’am, I am ordering more food and she still did it after every dish I ordered. Then had an attitude and hung up on me when I said that was all. I don’t know how much it was or anything. I had my husband to get the food because I can’t stand rude people. I’m here from out of town and even if the food is good, I will NEVER go back. I only ordered over the phone because my parents go there a lot. Horrible service, take your money else where! I also read the inside is nasty (from another review) and if that’s true then that’s another reason to NOT GO! There are Chinese places everywhere so please go...

When I have a taste for Chinese Food, China Wok on Lem Turner Rd. is my go too. One of my favorite dishe are Shrimp Fried Rice with Extra Shrimp, Egg, and Bean Sprouts. The service there is great and I would suggest if you want your food in a timely manner to call it in for pickup. It's usually in and out for me but the wait time has never been too long for me. The atmosphere, I have no issues with. They may have a line and people sitting waiting on food but it's never been bad for me. I've been going to China...
