Holiday Pines — Hotel in Jay

I was not impressed at all with this establishment. I had a funeral to attend in Grove and chose this place to stop and sleep as it was getting late, and I was tired from driving. I am a travel agent and book many rooms for myself and others. I always check the reviews and pictures of the places I am looking to book. All I can say is the only true pictures are of the pool and one of the rooms beds. The ones showing clean towels with flowers and the lady putting sheets on the bed are stock photos. If it had not been so late and I hadn't had issues getting signed in already, I would have walked out. I was traveling alone and could not drive another minute. The room was dirty, there was hair in the bed the sheets were dirty, the bedspread had holes cut in it and cigarette burns, the bathtub had hair all in it, and the list goes on and on. I slept on top of the sheets at the foot of the bed and used my backpack for a pillow. I would not recommend this place to anyone. The photos will show what I'm talking about. The coffee pot had dirt all in the part you pour the water in. There were cup rings on the dresser, dirt in the drawers, splatters of something on the wall by the table, the room had a very musty cheap cologne and smoke smell, and there were cob webs in the corners of the walls. I did not feel safe as the lock was a small rusted device, and the door lock was a lil sketchy also. I'm not sure why the other people saw things...

COCKROACH INFESTATION! I've traveled across the country and stayed at motels and hotels everywhere. This is by far the worst most rundown disgusting place I've stayed. Holes in the ceiling and the doors burns all over the sink. Cockroaches everywhere which must be why they post a no refund for any reason sign above the counter. They left a used towel hanging from the prior person, I'm not sure they even cleaned the room or just put new soap out. The lady when I tried to check in was very frazzled and manic acted very weird said she didn't know what room the owner reserved for me yet there was nobody else there in the entire motel. That should have been my sign not to stay here! Stay here and I have no doubt you'll leave with cockroaches stowed away in your clothes or belongings. It's so bad im going to contact the health department to notify someone about it. See all...

Maybe a little on the expensive side. Maybe they need an update to the rooms. But their customer service is on point. The hotel caretakers work hard making sure you can get a room if they have one. We were in Jay because my husband was fixing a cell phone tower in that area and I needed an early check-in on a Friday. They were so kind and helpful there and even refunded us for the nights we thought we were staying, but didn't. Some of the uppity hotels don't do that. Just wanted to say thank you guys for making us repeat customers IF and WHENEVER we are back...
