The Redwood Motel — Hotel in Jefferson

I've stayed at the Redwood 4 or 5 different weeks now while working on the road. The gentleman who operates this motel is friendly and courteous. The accommodations are basic, but the rooms are clean and comfortable. All are equipped with refrigerators. He works hard to keep it an affordable place for traveling workers. It's very convenient to be able to park right in front of the door for loading and unloading! Not a new concept, but hard to find these days with larger motels. Wifi was spotty, but I've seen worse. Allowed me to get my business done. No continental breakfast, but I think those are overrated, anyway. All in all, this was about the best place I've stayed in Iowa for the money. My family and I have stayed here numerous times over the years and it is a great little motel. The manager is very friendly and has always done all he could to make our stay comfortable...just ask and if he can he will help out. As another reviewer noted the motel is circa 1970s but has always been clean and served us well. If you are looking for an Embassy Suites or something along that line this is not it but if you want a clean, inexpensive little place to stay it fits the bill. This is an older motel but the owner is making a big effort in renovating it.
